Architecture has transormational powers and my work strives to transorm people’s experience o
space.
From spending countless childhood hours designing on carpet with Lego to now expanding my
experience designing on paper, computer and in built models, I am ready to show the world what I
can do.

Connections between architecture and music have been
around since the classical times when the physical and
harmonic structure o music was identifed as a model or
architectural proportion.
This project was an investigation into the possibilities o translation
between the two mediums o music and architecture. “Alive” by
Pearl Jam was chosen as a companion resource to think about thisconcept o Music+Architecture.
I chose to look at duration (tempo, time signatures, rhythm) o the
song in question and analyse its specifc components. From the
outset this standard rock song sounds very ordered and consistent,
but when you begin to break it down into its component parts –
intro/verse/chorus/middle-eight/etc. – Sections and various changes
are present. I chose to urther analyse the drum track highlighting
the various accents, flls and dynamic which provide moments o
departure.
The studio is sel contained rom the residence and has its own
identifable entrance or visitors and students. However, looking at
the ‘pattern making’ o Alive by Pearl Jam and translating it into
architectonic ideas o repetition, layering and phase shiting creates
an interesting juxtaposition o volumes.
This type o design process and interrogation uncovers potentialities
or synaesthetic translations between the acoustic and visual spaces.
In the music studio it is very much about volumes providing aural
stimuli; the visual is limited. In the residence the intersection
and overlapping o spaces allows or a dialect between the two
oppositions o aural vs visual (what you can see vs what you can
hear). In the design there is a clear visual and physical distinction
between the public studio and the private residence, but acoustically
they are linked through overlapping spaces that allow or a aural
connection but limit visual interaction.

marion propensitiesUrban thinking and possibilities
a wolpack architects venture
These images represent hypothetical utures o
the Marion site i it were to become open to the
density and urbanity we attribute to European
and U.S cities.
The premise o the scheme was an investigation
into the tension between the suburban lie vsurbanity. The notion o creating places or
people within a ractured city was central to the
visualisations and early conceptual thinking.
These images show the interrogation o large
object architecture and when broken down into
its component pieces, the individual spaces o the
whole would materialise.
