Each capacity class has an individually sised compressor,dimensioned toprovideoptimal efficiencies per capacityrange.Thisavoidshavinganover-dimensionedcompressor,leadingtolowerseasonalefficiencies.

For example, the compressor of the new 4kWclass is designed to work at optimal frequencies,deliveringthelowcapacitiesneededbyhouseswith lowheatloadsmoreefficiently.

In addition to its efficient compressor range, the DaikinAltherma optimises efficiency at all outside and watertemperatureswiththeuseof:

• a pressure sensor for detailed measurement ofcondensing pressure level to evaluate the optimalamountofsubcool.

• an individual dimensioned plate heat exchanger percapacityclass,toofferoptimalefficienciesper capacityrange.

• Low-capacity 4-8kW range is equipped with swingcompressor:integrationofmainmovingpartsinonecomponent,assuringnoabrasionandnorefrigerantleakages, guaranteeing optimal reliability andefficiency;

• High-capacity11-16kWrangeisequippedwithscrollcompressors:quiet,compactandrobust,guaranteeingoptimaloperational reliability (novalvesandbuilt-inswing-link coupling) and efficiency (through a lowinitialflowandaconstantcompressionratio).

1 Weather-dependentset-pointcontrol:DaikinAlthermamaximisesefficiencyateveryoutdoortemperaturethroughitsweather-dependentset-pointcontrol.Thiscontrollogicwillalwayskeepthewatertemperaturesaslowaspossible,tomaximisetheheatpumpefficiencyforeachspecificoutdoortemperature.Thisresultsin:

• Higherheatpumpefficiencywithlowerwatertemperatures• Nounnecessaryoverheating,therebydeliveringthetemperaturesrequired• Continuousheatingatlowerwatertemperatures,providingstableroomtemperatures

Daikinisrenownedfor itsknow-howrelatedtofrostprotectiononitsheatpumprange. Theoutdoorunitsarespecificallydesignedtoavoidicebuild-upproblems,eveninthemostseverewinterconditions.

Daikin Altherma low temperature has a guaranteedoperation down to an outside temperature of -25°C.Thisensuressufficientheatpumpoperationforeventhecoldestclimates.

1.The4-8kW rangeof DaikinAlthermahasa specificallydesignedcasingtoavoid the riskof ice formationontheoutdoorunitcoil.

• The outdoor unit has a free hanging coil,ensuring no ice accumulates in the lower part of theoutdoor unit. This is key to offering appropriatefrost protection and has the additional advantagethat no electrical bottom plate heater is required.

• The discharge grill is also specifically designed toavoidiceaccumulation.

This adequate frost protection results in one productofferingthroughoutEurope,fromthesouthofSpaintothenorthofFinland.

2. The 11-16kW range of Daikin Altherma (ERLQ-C) hasspecificfrostprotectiontoavoidtheriskoficeformingontheoutdoorunitcoil.
