Dadaab Saka Habaswein Garissa Korokora Hagadera Liboi Dif The present map shows basic topographic features such as Transport Network, Hydrology, Population, Land cover and Toponyms in Dadaab area. These basic topographic features are derived by means of visual thematic interpretation of pan-sharpened Landsat imagery. All satellite images have been radiometrically enhanced and georeferenced using aerial orthophoto. The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 65m CE 90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the terrain-corrected Landsat images. The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 85% or better as it is based on visual interpretation of recognizable items on very high resolution optical imagery. Map produced on 31.3.2014 by GISAT s.r.o. and Indra Sistemas S.A. under contract 257228 with the European Commission. All products are © of the European Commission. E-mail: [email protected] http://emergency.copernicus.eu/mapping GLIDE number: N/A Cartographic Information Map Coordinate System: WGS 1984 UTM Zone 37N Full color A1, low resolution (100dpi) The products elaborated in the framework of current mapping in non-rush mode activation are realized to the best of our ability, within a very short time frame during a crisis, optimising the available data and information. All geographic information has limitations due to scale, resolution, date and interpretation of the original data sources. The products are compliant with GIO-EMS NON-RUSH Product Portfolio specifications. The reference map shows topographic features as of 2014 and land use and land cover classification as of February 2010. The purpose of the requested satellite-based mapping is to provide environmental degradation assessment, vegetation development and cultivation monitoring around the Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya. The set of land cover maps shows land cover status in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2014 as extracted from high resolution satellite imagery (from Landsat mission). The core user of the map are the field offices of DG ECHO in Kenya. No restrictions on the publication of the mapping apply Delivery formats are GeoTIFF, GeoPDF, GeoJPG for raster maps and ESRI GDB for vectors Legend Graticule: WGS 84 Geographical Coordinates Product N.: 07, DADAAB, v2 Activation ID: EMSN-011 Inset maps based on: Administrative boundaries, rivers and cities © Topographic maps (2013).
