1. Presentation
The project’s image is an expression of its personality. It defines the project visually and
distinguishes it from other projects. It can transmit the essence and core values of the project, such
as innovation, prestige, simplicity, quality, service and others.
Image is a highly important factor for the positioning of the project in the mind of stakeholders. The
project identity should be able to attract attention, be easily understood, and express trust and
confidence. Taking into account these premises, we present the Project Identity Manual.
This manual is a guide to assure proper positioning and visual identity management for the project.
It will provide advice and support in the management and use of the image.
2. 1Objective
The objective of this manual is to create and define FORESTA´s project identity, in order to
establish a consistent image that will have a positive impact on stakeholders and create a sense of
ownership by all participants.

3. 2BLogo
The logo was designed according to the main idea that was established from the beginning of the
project: the concept of cooperation between EU and Latin America region.
The elements that make up the logo are:
3 stars symbolizing the European Union
A map of Latin America
A mouse symbolizing ICT technology
The name of the project.
There are two versions, one with the complete name of the project and the other with the
acronym. See Figures 1 and 2.
The guidelines below will facilitate the use of the logo, as well as ensure its proper and effective
management. Be sure to give the logo its own space and avoid grouping it too closely to other
graphic elements. (Refer to section 3.5 “Protection Area” of this document for more details.)

3.1 5BUse of other official logos
It is also important to use the logo of the Seventh Framework Programme, as well as the logo of the
European Commission on every document or publication. The logo of FORESTA in both versions
must be equal in size or larger than the other logos. It is suggested that the logos be placed at the
bottom of every document. The electronic document will be available for download on the Web
page. See Figure 5 for an example.

4.3 19BPress Release
A press release is pseudo-news story written in third person that seeks to demonstrate to an editor or
reporter the newsworthiness of the project. Press releases are often sent only by e-mail. They can
also be part of a full press kit or may be accompanied by a letter.
In order to achieve consistency, a template has been designed for FORESTA press releases. Please
follow the indications below when using the template.
The template consists of the following elements:
- Title

- Context
- Person responsible for information
Title: Must be written in upper and lower case letters. The title should be short, but
attractive.

consists of 3 parts:
Country code: The abbreviation of the country where the press release is written.
Belgium BE
Argentina AR
Spain SP
Chile CH
United Kingdom UK
Colombia CO
Brazil BR
