D07-RW-VAR(C) PID 104948 ODOT proposes to acquire right-of-way at two existing culvert systems located in Auglaize and Champaign Counties. The project is necessary to bring the existing culvert systems fully into the public right-of-way and allow for necessary maintenance on the deteriorated culverts. The project is funded with state System Preservation funds. Environmental clearance is scheduled for 02/09/2018. Acquisition is expected to be completed in early 2019. ODOT County Forces will undertake the necessary culvert maintenance activities in 2019 or 2020. Detours of up to two weeks may be required to allow for the proposed culvert replacements. Signed detours will be provided. No utility relocations are anticipated. AUG-117-0323 – Under the project, the existing 36” corrugated metal and cast iron pipe under SR 117 in Wayne Township, Auglaize County will be replaced. The proposed replacement will be a 36” plastic pipe on the same alignment. Rock channel protection will be provided at the outlet. At this location, the project is expected to require up to 0.03-acre of new permanent right-of-way and up to 0.06-acre of temporary right-of-way. Within the census blockgroups that include the project culvert, minorities represent 2% of the population; individuals in poverty represent 39% of the population. The surrounding area is agricultural and residential. In the vicinity of this culvert, there are no National Historic Landmarks, sites listed or known eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, or sites for which Ohio Historic/Archaeological Inventory forms have been completed. The culvert carries an intermittent unnamed tributary of an unnamed tributary to the Scioto River. The project culvert is located at the headwaters of the stream and serves a drainage area of 0.18 square miles. No wetlands were identified the project limits. Trees at the project location are scrub/shrub trees that do not offer habitat for the Indiana or northern long-eared bat. CHP-245-0810 – Under the project, this existing 21” corrugated metal pipe under SR 245 in Harrison Township, Champaign County will be replaced. The proposed replacement will be an 18” plastic pipe on the same alignment. Rock channel protection will be provided at the outlet. At this location, the project is expected to require up to 0.03-acre of new permanent right-of- way. No temporary acquisition is anticipated. Within the census blockgroups that include the project culvert, there are no reported minorities; individual in poverty represent 15% of the population.
