ABOUT SKYSky zhao noticed his passion for speed, when he first arrived on New Zealand’s shore in 2002.

In 2003 sky became heavily involved with the drag racing scene.

Late in 2004 sky switched to track racing to hone his driving skills, he finished on the podium many time during his track racing career including the Manfield 4 hour endurance race, Auckland club championship And formula challenge.

Meanwhile in 2005, he focused on building quality show cars, taking out awards at the auto salon car show in 2005 and 2006 (best jdm style) and 2007 (best brake engineering).

In 2007 sky also competed in the rotax max international karting series where he developed his precision driving skills to Ascertain a wider depth in racing knowledge.

In 2008 sky began his drift career, developing two Nissan s14s for drifting, he attended many drifting events such as d2nz, driftopia and various private track days.

With the skills in hand, he picked up drifting pretty quickly. By end of 2008, he was given an opportunity to compete in the 2009 d1nz rookie championship series. After a year of competing and hard work, ranking 9th over 33 teams, and winning ‘best presented vehicle’ award at the d1nz award dinner, he was also nominated for ‘most improved driver’.

Since the start of the 2010 season sky has Competed in the d1nz professional series, He has progressed rapidly among 40 other Competitive teams.

Sky is currently ranked in the top 10 drift drivers in the country, Skys high level of professionalism and team presentation always stand out at each track team d spec visit and sky always has time for his fans.

Sky is invited to many highly exposed and anticipated events such as the v8 supertouers, nzv8, big boy toys, 4&rotary supershows, crc speedshow at various places in New Zealand to represent the entire d1nz series. This is testament to the level sky keeps his cars and team presented.

Sky works hard to promote drifting at the grass root level, volunteering his time, organizing amateur events and driver training ‘d spec drift day’ and working withOther drivers to help them improving their drifting skills. Sky Zhao is considered one of the pioneers in the sport of drifting.

DRIFTING AND THE TARGET MARKET

Sky qualified to be one of the top 8 drifters to represent the D1NZ championship at this years Hamilton 400 V8supercar round. Sky performed infront of the massive croud.

What is Team D Spec?Team D Spec is our team and we pride our selves on being one of the most successful teams in the drift scene. From presentation, competition and marketing, Team D Spec is committed to ensure all partners and sponsors are represented in the utmost professional way, striving to make the car, driver and team presentation at all events carrying our team partners with high distinction over other race teams in New Zealand.

In sponsoring a sport such as Drifting you will be targeting a very broad target audience, getting your product ‘out there’ into the eyes of likely consumers.

The main target audience you will reach will be a broad spectrum of people ranging from 10-45 years old. This includes both males and females.

Being involved with Drifting will be beneficial for you Company as the class is very popular. Young New Zealanders love Drifting and the cars will be a stand out.

Sponsors will find that Drifting is a more direct way of advertising their logo and brand to the target market. The cars are racing on the parts of the track which is viewable by the crowd and enthusiasts. The fans can walk around the pits and look at the cars. and the TV and magazine coverage for Drifting is growing faster then any other motorsport.

The Nissan 350z is a very popular car with motorsport enthusiasts of all ages and obviously our car will stand out from the other cars with its V8 and top level presentation. The crowd will love the car and so will the track photographers. Your Logo and branding will be on show in front of the biggest motorsport crowd New Zealand can produce.

This is a massive opportunity.

Bonus Exposure with D-SpecNZ Chinese Herald is the foremost Chinese newspaper in New Zealand, our team will receive round reports and exclusive interviews on the 1st page of motor section, followed by a full page of advertising for sponsors, valued at $16000.

Posters.Team D Spec will have posters featuring the car and all sponsors logos the poster will be branded the same as the naming rights sponsor.

Facebook.We have recently started a facebook page for team D Spec Team D Spec “OFFICIAL” fb page has 450 likes so far and is growing in popularity each day it has been active for 3 weeks now. Skys personal page was overwhelmed by fans and fans photos so now we have a place for businesses associated with Team D Spec to advertise and promote using our page to directly hit our fans and the target market.

Youtube. We will be making videos in the 2013 season which we will post on Youtube. we will have at least one video per meeting featuring interviews with Sky and other team members.Promotional videos will include branding of naming rights sponsor. Skykiwi.comSkykiwi is New Zealand’s number one Chinese website, Team D-Spec will also be advertising and receiving coverage on Skykiwi, also special driver blog with sponsor information has been set up on www.skykiwi.com.

Mobile BillboardOur 10 metre long box body transporter trailer will be wrapped with the naming rights sponsors branding and will also feature your logo as big as we can make it.The trailer works as a mobile billboard everywhere is goes. this will be displayed to the public throughout New Zealand. . Team Shirts and Merchandiseyour logo will feature on our team shirts and also on any merchandise we produce.
