11 D P this class of pistol is needed. The sights are, as one might expect, non-adjustable, but are very clear and line up quickly. It goes without saying that a steel .380 of this size and weight is not going to be tons of fun to shoot. Like the Seecamp and the NAA .380s, the Micro Desert Eagle has a snappy recoil. But then again, it is a tool for situations in which recoil will probably be the last thing you would notice. Disassembling the Micro for cleaning was, for me, a trip down Memory Lane. I’ve owned a bunch of older Browning pocket pistols where disassembly involved pulling the slide back a bit, then turning the barrel 180 degrees, and let- ting the slide go forward and off. Same here. Simi- larly, the two recoil springs, positioned on either side of the frame, reminded me of the old Walther P-38. Neither assembly nor reassembly is particu- larly challenging, although the two pages in the manual that deal with fieldstripping and assembly are not a model of clarity. The Micro Desert Eagle comes in a very sturdy, lockable hard case, com- plete with the obligatory cable lock, a cleaning rod and cleaning brush and a $10 discount on an NRA membership. This is one solid, beautifully crafted gun, finished in Teflon nickel. Suggested retail price is $535.
