What to do if you think you’re a victim of cyberbullying

• Don’t reply; this may make things worse and, you too can be labelled a ‘cyberbully’

• Do not delete any messages; these can be used a ‘proof’

• Report the cyberbully; ‘block’ them and inform the site administrator

What to do if you think you’re a victim of cyberbullying

• NEVER agree to meet them in person, particularly if you don’t know them, inform your parents, teacher or an adult you trust, especially they become persistent

• You must inform the Police if your safety and security is at risk

• Remember you can report cyberbullying in School; the School will have a policy and procedure to cover such incidents

School exemplar for reporting cyberbullying

• Students and parents are able to report incidents via a dedicated emailing system

Avoidance Tips

• Avoid sending anything others may find offensive

• NEVER give out any personal details

• Don’t give in to ‘peer pressure’ by passing on any abusive or cruel messages

• NEVER agree to meet up with people you don’t know, inform your parents, teacher or an adult you trust, especially if they’re persistent
