Our Mission • Represent, respond and respect the diversity of cancer viewpoints • Advocate changes for a better system • Raise awareness of cancer • Reduce the stigma of cancer • Motivate, inspire, inform and empower the community to action • Grow a grassroots movement of supporters Our Actions advocacy, involvement, awareness and information • Presenting the ‘patient experience’ to oncology staff, students, researchers and community groups • Representing ‘people affected by cancer’ on key cancer forums & committees at state and national level • Advocacy and action on issues of concern • Grassroots engagement through events, participation, sporting initiatives, ‘Cancer Conversations’, online via our website, FaceBook, Twitter • Providing updates and access to quality cancer-related information • Promoting cancer consumer participation opportunities via our website & Community NoticeBoard; events, activities, surveys, research About Cancer Voices SA Cancer Voices SA is an independent 100% volunteer organisation. We represent people affected by cancer, all types and stage, across South Australia. We are part of a national network of Cancer Voices. Membership is free, and open to anyone – cancer patients, their family, friends, colleagues, carers and supporters. We were established in 2007, are led by a 10 member Executive Team, and have around 800 members. June 2014
