excellence Summary I am a qualified Architect with 17 years of experience in a broad spectrum of

projects in South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. I possess the proven ability to handle projects from start to completion, deliver effective design solutions to clients’ requirements and lead constructively. Project Director status inclusive of Design Management experienced in managing the design process throughout all contractual stages (Initiation - Tendering and End of Defects). Responsible for the Preparation of RFP documents and participate as a member of a selected Committee for consultant tender evaluation processes. Currently assume technical responsibility for all technical (design) related activities carried out by the Technical (Design) Department, to ensure information and documentation is produced and issued to the highest technical standards. • Monitor and participate in the design review of all design related information entering or leaving the office. • Responsible for the quality of information entering and leaving the Technical (Design) Department. • Participate in the application, monitoring and review of CAD standards which complement the existing practice protocols to provide a uniform platform for information delivery and retrieval. • Responsible to ensure that QA/QC standards for the Technical (Design) Department are fully implemented and once fully established are achieved with continuous review improving the standard and quality of information produced. Work in conjunction with Directors and appointees responsible for QA/QC management to implement a global approach to QA/QC ensuring a holistic approach, providing services to compliment the practice as a whole. • Develop and monitor the standardisation of information release with appropriate documentation. Ensure information release with QA/QC checks/reviews stamped to confirm the purpose of issue to facilitate regulated and controlled issue. • Responsible for programming of all design related documentation to ensure timely information delivery and to co-ordinate the program with other Departments, ensuring a cohesive programming strategy for the practice as a whole. Ensure compliance with the master program and timely release of documentation to project programs as a whole. • Monitor Client approval /sign off of all design related information and the accuracy of information submitted for approval/sign-off with consideration given to drawings, schedules, reports and specifications. Ensure Client approves/signs off all technical (design) related submissions and reports at the appropriate stages of design to reduce risk and ensure Client satisfaction. • Responsible for the Technical (Design) Department team building and pastoral care of staff in the Technical (Design) Department. • Responsible for motivating, team building and providing insets to achieve the required overall standards for the Technical (Design) Department and to ensure that this has a strategic fit into the practice as a whole. • To ensure that the Technical (Design) Department are integrated into the entire practice structure ensuring that the staff under your control feel part of the overall practice. • Commercial responsibility for the Technical (Design) Department to ensure that the technical (design) section is a successful profit centre within the practice as a

separate cost centre. • Have a positive and proactive role liaising and participating with other Departments to ensure that the Technical (Design) Department runs smoothly and effectively within the practice as a whole. • Recommend staffing levels, interview and recommend staffing employment and termination. This shall be undertaken in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager and Directors. • Staff reviews and appraisals for staff under your control and recommendations to the Directors on matters arising in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager. • Direct contact and proactive liaison with Clients and third party consultants to co-ordinate input into the design and represent the practice. • Develop and control a cost planning strategy within the Technical (Design) Department to ensure cost effective yet innovative design solutions that comply with the project (Client) brief and project budget. • Overall responsibility to monitor the successful management and delivery of all design related tasks from inception through Design, Construction and completion. • Develop a 'work smart' policy to ensure maximum use is made of existing designs and archives without compromising the creative and innovation reputation DSA Architects International has developed. • Manage an effective change control policy in the Technical (Design) Department. This process requires effective communications and liaison with other Departments in providing clear and concise information on all changes. Particular attention is to be made to changes post client approval/ sign-off. Change control information from other Departments is also to be co-ordinated and implemented and the effect on the design monitored and controlled to ensure that all commercial concerns are addressed and Client satisfaction maintained. • Responsible to hold regular and effective project/team meetings to brief the Technical (Design) Department on current and forthcoming issues. • Responsible to hold regular and effective meetings with other Departments to ensure sharing of ideas and brief other Departments on current and forthcoming design related matters. • Ensure and develop the technical (design) team members understanding of the process and flow of information related to different types of projects. Improve the phased delivery of technical (design) information with agreed deliverables for each stage. • Monitor and control the use and implementation of standard documentation used within the practice as a whole. • Responsible for the timely preparation of required approvals including statutory approvals to ensure compliance with the required standards stipulated by these bodies. • Provide accurate reporting to the Directors on a monthly basis on the performance of the Technical (Design) Department per the agreed format including risk assessment feedback on all technical (design) related activities. • Perform other duties of a similar nature, level or as required by the executive committee.
