This resource was created by Rosemary Sarich of Fairy Poppins for Playdough To Plato . Author: Thank you so much for downloading this resource pack which focuses on helping children to isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel and final sounds in CVC words. It includes two activities : 1. Medial Short Vowels Sort (cards 1 to 4)- look at the picture, say the word and identify the medial vowel sound. Place the picture on the corresponding vowel. 2. Short Vowel Sorts (cards 6-9)– look at the picture and orally segment (break down) the word into individual sounds e.g. pig /p/ /i/ /g/. Match the picture to the word. You can also use the pictures as a stimulus for writing CVC words on a mini whiteboard with an erasable marker. Happy teaching! Graphics by: CVC Picture Sort Medial Short Vowel Sounds Fudgy Brownies
