“The Confirmation of the Deflection of Light”. (Short Version.) Draft 10.
(Under Revision)
A light-hearted theatrical play about the ‘confirmation’ of the deflection of
light made possible by a ‘curvature’ in the space-time co-ordinate system, a
four dimensional system of spatial measurement proposed by A. Einstein.
(The curvature is caused, in this case, by the mass of the Sun.) The result
of the physical observation of the defection of starlight when seen from the
vantage of a total eclipse of the Sun by the Moon from planet Earth was the
second ‘classical’ proof of Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity which he
delivered in a series of four lectures to the Royal Prussian Academy of
Sciences in Berlin, Germany, between the 4th and 25
th of November 1915.
The results of a joint expedition to South America and West Africa by the
Royal Society and the Royal Astronomical Society were presented to the
public on the 6th of November 1919. They were broadly accepted as proof
that Einstein had indeed made the first, and only, modification to Newton’s
Law of Universal Gravitation, which was first published in 1687 AD. The
confirmation made Einstein World famous. (The play is just over 1 hour.)

“Life on Earth”. (Revision 04)
A design paper to RIBA Stage 0: Strategic Definition. This is a proposal for
a type of astronomical clock which illustrates the evolution of life on planet
Earth set against an inter-galactic scale. (The scale of the clock is 1 mm =
1,000 ly). The clock covers a space-time distance of 10.296 Mly and 5,600
million years, beginning from 4,600 million years in the past. (At this scale
the Local Galaxy is 100 mm in diameter, and the physical diameter of the
observable (Local) Universe, a sphere, is now 92 km.)

“The Icon of The Chinese Peoples Revolution”, Peking, People’s
Republic of China. (Revision 007)
A design paper to RIBA Stage 0: Strategic Definition. This is a proposal for
a new type of astronomical clock, a galactic clock, to be installed on
Tiananmen Gate. The project uses information which is protected by
international copyright and produced by NASA, the JPL and Caltech. (The
scale of the clock is 1 mm = 50 ly.)

“When Eight Bells Toll”, Peking, People’s Republic of China.
(Revision 02)
A design paper to RIBA Stage A: Appraisal. This is a town planning
proposal for the city of Peking to commemorate some important events in
the history of the city since its foundation by Kublai Khan in 1272 AD. It
takes the form of a mise-en-scène. The project completion is proposed for
the 750th anniversary of the city’s foundation in 2022 AD.
2012 “Feudalism with Chinese Characteristics”, Hong Kong, China.
A design paper to RIBA Stage A: Appraisal. This is a town planning
