Statement of Vision

OBJECTIVES & MISSION

‘Learning that is Reflective and Experiential; keeps me motivated at work’. The mission that I wish to accomplish by

being in the profession of “Enhancing Human Capital” by contributing towards Competency Building of

Institutions and organizations.

It will be a matter of pride and honour to witness that Universities/ institution globally are getting aligned with skilling

students to deliver excellence in education in conjunction to internationally accepted norms of higher and technical

education along with high end contribution to Research & Intellectual Capital.

The universities address the nation’s as well as regional needs for capacity building in higher education and

contributing to the balanced regional development. Hence it is believed that the “reputation for capability building of

the universities / institution grows in conjunction to the status of a teaching and research-based institution.

This brief statement of Vision for commitment to capability building with balance Regional development by ensuring

access to higher & technical education for all. It sets forth the main areas for attention and describes action steps

that are important to continued progress towards building capability and expertise in varied academic domain. The

perspective plan encourages a regional wide campus filled with creativity, confidence, energy, and productivity; the

hallmark of higher order programs coupled with Industry need for trained manpower. This would widen the circle of

its own influence internally to support interest of the larger community coupled with international agenda.

There has been growing and attracting balanced interest of investors in diversified industries with strong technology

differentiator. Hence the universities / Institutions have to strive to partner with organisation to become leading

Institutions in Industry Institutional partnerships. It will be interesting to foresee the new management thoughts,

knowledge and informed economy, and along with its affiliating partner international Universities in times to come for

internationalisation of education.

It’s not to forget the celebration of multiples successes of our well-established institution but also to create a new

vision to amalgamate with challenging higher and technical education environment that we have been facing. The

common challenge that every higher education institution is facing is to how to prepare students for increasingly

complex organisations and careers. Hence, it’s critical for the institution to:

A) Take a broader look on the professional responsibility of graduating students to multiple stakeholders,

B) Know how we can strengthen better understanding on the phenomena of globalisation,

C) Build value-based leadership with strong ethics and governance,

D) Strive towards ability to innovate by supporting national agenda,

E) Educate and train faculties to think critically, decide wisely, communicate clearly and implement effectively.

F) Introduce Reforms in Examinations and assessment system that cover the Affective, Behaviour and

Cognitive Variables.

The efforts have to start modestly and look inward on the Threats, Opportunities, Weakness and Strength (TOWS)

that allows our faculties to evaluate the institution’s history and positions, Intellectual and Financial Health of the

university for the future. Hence assessment of Industry trends, current competencies level, leading & emerging

professions will be required in setting up a new vision framework. Collaborative thinking and high level of support &

cooperation from Management, Deans, Faculty, Administrators, students, executives, Statutory councils,

accreditation agencies, Employers, Industry, Industry associations including few select international university

institutions will be the priority to steer discussions by maintaining rigorous follow-up to ensure the Accreditation is

well maintained and listed as one of the contributing institutions.

Page 9: CV of Dr Rajesh Arora - paepi global

CV of Dr Rajesh Arora 9

It’s important for us to build new developmental strategies, which can:

A) Respond to demands of the students with more global perspective from partnered Universities.

B) The partnered university programs are positioned with full-fledged pursuit of integration and a

multidisciplinary perspective for cross pollination of Ideas.

C) Amendments in schemes and syllabus are conducted with involvement of all stakeholders including

students.

D) Re-design purpose, position and build program design parallel to universities with QS ranking & TIMES

Ranking top university allowing students for horizontal, vertical and lateral movements to build their career.

E) Strengthen interest with innovative teaching, learning and assessment methods especially in STEM field to

minimise drop outs and reduce scalability of getting employed.

F) A balance between knowing, doing and being component at the university for Academic Staff through

Academic Staff colleges and thereby translating to class room environment.

G) Challenge current Administrative setup and work out new policies and framework by taking stakeholders in

confidence from different institution.

H) Integrate with Industry for research and professional practices leading to establishment of patents, centre for

research, innovation and entrepreneurships and start-ups that could be pursued in line with programs.

To build the above opportunities is not going to be without challenges that are internal and external too. These

complex challenges could be securing faculty with skills, level of localisation, broadening of Research and Research

methods, assessing higher cost of curricula in lieu of small group teacher student ratio and action learning. These

challenges are significant but it could be believed that they are not insurmountable, and will offer a number of

suggestions for how they will be overcome by individuals through collective wisdom and action.

Teaching Experience 1995 – till date

It was always a kindling urge in me to give a missionary zeal to teach and share my knowledge with others. In “Vedas” & “Granths” it has been depicted that only knowledge is worthwhile which you can share with others. As George Bernard Shaw remarks “An intellectual can make the world beautiful but a beautiful cannot make the world intelligent”. I translated my urge in to reality in July 1995, when I first entered in to the academic world and associated myself with the world of knowledge. I found my interaction with the learned and the learner very soothing to me and have resolved to remain in this process always, because sharing & caring with the wise and intellect is a rich experience.

Exposure to teaching at Post Graduate Level (MBA) since 1995 till date has given an opportunity to be strong conceptually. Creative teaching techniques are used to make learning more fun and experiential for students. Multiples subjects in General Management & Core / Elective Marketing Papers are taught with sharing of industry experience. Exposure to International teaching / training at Heriot Watt University (www.hw.ac.uk) Established 1821 , Charles Sturt University (http://www.csu.edu.au/mba/) in India through BIIGS, Informatics Kuwait (http://www.informaticsgroup.com.kw), Carlton Advanced management institute USA (CAMI) (http://www.carltonglobal.com/history.asp) has training partner in 30 different location all across the world.

My Teaching Assignments are in the following areas at various management institutes in Mumbai:

Sales & Distribution Management

Quantitative Models in Marketing

Principles in Econometrics

Marketing Research & Research Methodology

Organisational Behavioural

Training and Development

Building a learning organization

Indian Management thoughts and practice

Entrepreneurship Management

The assignments were completed with centre of Heriot Watt in Middle East. This accreditation allows me to access 140 centers across the world. (www.hw.ac.uk).
