I have extensive experience in Energy, Petrochemical (Oil & Gas), Defence, Utilities, Transportation, Rail, Communications, Commercial, Luxury Residential and Marine development projects. The key areas of my project activities include research and design (inception), conceptualisation, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Design, Construction, Installation and commissioning. As a Director / Principal / Chief Supervising Civil & Structural Engineer I provide technical input and leadership to the relevant business departments and/or multi-disciplinary groups. This includes the identification, assessment & selection of new business opportunities so as to sustain the group by recognising the entry point for such services. JACE Ltd. Principal Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineer – Various Inc. Luxury Spa & Swimming Pool Design of a Reinforced Concrete, Steel & Timber Framed structure/s. Finite Element Analysis produced on the concrete elements including geotechnical analysis and foundation design for the base and external spa pool. This bespoke design required a fast track approach to design and fabrication.

Aramco Overseas: Principal Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineer: EPC Project: Working directly with the Client I was responsible for the Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Engineering Project Management for the Solids Handling Package for an Oil Refinery in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities extended to ensure the delivery of all outsourced CS&A design aspects for the Solids Handling Package and where necessary designed and provided solutions where no one else could: Overall Project Value $12 Billion USD. Package valued at $450 Million USD: The majority of the work involved managing the design of two very large Coke & Sulphur Storage Buildings, a 3Km conveyor and the design of Berth 69-Port & Quay. I performed the geotechnical analysis and design verification for 1.8 Km of piles for the entire package. The efficiency of the methods adopted ensured that the detailed design was completed on time & within budget. This included providing a saving of over $6.5M in change orders. Further cost savings were ascertained throughout the project. Additional duties included liaising with suppliers, consultants and commissioning engineers relating to the design, installation and construction. I oversaw the design of the Maritime Quay ancillary equipment.

Various: Principal / Lead Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineering Manager / Engineering Manager: EPC Project: Working directly with/for the Client I was responsible for overseeing the civil & structural engineering for a port extension. This involved the management of the design for a number of load-out quays in accordance with BS 6349 Maritime Structures Parts 1 to 7 (2000). Due to poor ground conditions a piled foundation solution was required. To accommodate the larger 8000 Tonne ships. Dredging of the river bed was required. I provided ancillary equipment for the port including a new fender protection systems & anchor bollards. I also designed three new chlorinators for Huntsman Toxide.

RSRL: Principal / Lead / Senior Civil & Structural Engineering Manager: Working directly with/for the Client I was responsible for the on-going Structural review of the SGHWR facility at Winfrith, Testing & analysis management as well as the procurement of the significant structures items. This role involved providing expert knowledge & procurement management within a multi-disciplinary decommissioning period. The role involved presenting information & optioneering solutions to the client at RSRL. Bid proposals & managing specialised testing agreements under NEC forms of contract.

HalcrowYolles: Principal / Lead Civil & Structural Engineer Manager: EPC Project. Principal Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineering Manager: EPC Project: Responsible for the Overall Design, Design Management & Procurement of the non-safety related structures for a major nuclear defence project; value ≈£250 Million. This leading role involved engineering management within a multi-disciplinary design team liaising with The Client (AWE), Management Contractors (AMEC), Architects (SMC-Parr), MEP Engineers (MPS) and Civil/Structural Engineers (Halcrow) to achieve a value engineered solution. Other projects undertaken included restoration to Swindon Town Hall as well as providing engineering support for a New Central Library by liaising with the Chief Architect for Swindon BC; Project Value £23M. Also provided a comprehensive report structure to ensure future designs could be taken with ease.
