Curriculum Vitae Francesco Manegatti Page 1 / 3 PERSONAL INFORMATION: Francesco Manegatti Sex Male | Date of birth 11/11/1992 | Nationality Italian WORK EXPERIENCES: MAIN INTERESTS: My primary interest lies in the micro and nanotechnology devices for integrated systems (design, fabrication and characterization); the field I prefer is the Integrated Optics mixed with Electronics for communications, signal processing, detection and sensing. Project Internships During the semester at PHELMA-INP (February 2015 – May 2015), I was involved in a students’ project group with the aim of designing, taking advantage of CAD tools (mainly Comsol), a neural controlled prosthesis, consisting in an implanted electrode wirelessly powered by a magnetic field. The main applications are the neural activities monitoring or the control of an electro-mechanical prosthesis (e.g. artificial arm). June 2015 – August 2015 (10 weeks). I worked at the LPN-CNRS laboratory, placed 30 km south of Paris (France), with Professor Fabrice Raineri as tutor. In that experience I was mainly involved in the optical characterization of a device, constituted by a resonance nanocavity; the goal was to observe an Optical Memory behaviour. As a matter of fact, I worked principally in lab; however, I did some clean room sessions as well. February 2016 – August 2016 (6 months): master thesis’ Internship. I worked at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, placed in Yorktown Heights, NY (USA), with Dr. William M. J. Green as mentor. The project I developed was concerning the design and characterization of a feedback loop for the thermal stabilization of micro-ring resonators, made basically of silicon PN junctions; silicon, indeed, is highly sensitive to temperature variations, causing a significant shift in the micro-ring resonance wavelength. In order to design such a thermal feedback, I took advantage of FPGA tools.
