2. Work Experience

November 2008- September 2009:

Vice dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Gondar.

November 2007- September 2009:

During this nearly two years time, I have worked in the following areas of the Faculty and the

University for different ranges of time.

Instructor, head of the Research and Publications Committee, permanent member of the Academic

Commission, coordinator of the Establishing Committee of the Legal Aid Centre, head of the

Discipline Committee of the Faculty of Law, and member and secretary of the University Research

and Publications Committee. As an instructor, I have taught, interalia, the following courses:

International Humanitarian Law, Administrative Law, the Law of Public Finance, the Law of

Traders and Business Organizations, Business Law, the Law of Bankruptcy, the Law of Insurance,

Negotiable Instruments and Banking, and Customary Law.

I have also worked as a part-time employee /Instructor at Alpha University College –College of

Distance Education, St. Mary’s University College –College of Distance Education, and Admas

University College –College of Distance Education Gondar Branches. My Main activities and

responsibilities included: Delivering tutorials, correcting work sheets, correcting exams and

correcting project works. In addition to these:

-I am an examiner at the Amhara National Regional State’s CoC level IV, legal profession.

-I have evaluated a teaching material for Military Law sponsored by Justice and Legal System

Research Institute of the FDRE.

-I have co-authored the Manual for Senior Thesis sponsored by Justice and Legal System Research

Institute of the FDRE.

-I have co-authored a module for teaching Civic Education at the FMSE, University of Gondar,

Ethiopia.

-I have prepared a proposal for establishing Legal Aid Center under the University of Gondar,

Ethiopia.

-I have presented a paper on ‘the faces of corruption in Ethiopia’ in a workshop organized by

‘Transparency Ethiopia’ in 2008 in the city of Gondar.

July-August 2006:

I have conducted a Practical Attachment in the Justice Bureau of the Tigray National Regional State’s

Government. My main activity and responsibility was to help the public prosecutors in their official

duties.

October 2009-February 2011:M.A. DEGREE in Peace and Security Studies from the Institute for

Peace and Security Studies, Addis Ababa University.

November 2003-July 2007: LLB DEGREE from Law Faculty, Hawassa University.

5. Personal Skills and Competencies

5.1. Language:

Tigrinya, Amharic, and English excellent in all skills. Basic knowledge of the French language (I have

taken three months training from Albert Institute, Addis Ababa).

5.2. Social skills and Competences:

I have worked in various types of teams, ranging from research teams to different committees

during my stay in the University of Gondar.

5.3. Organizational Skills and Competences:

I was one of the organizers of the research conference held in my University, in 2008, and I had

active participation in Youth Associations and different Clubs while I was a student.
