This user guide is made available for informational purposes only in support of the relationship between FM Approvals and its customers. The information does not constitute an Approvals agree-ment, standard or certification. No liability is assumed by or through the use of any information.

Overview

This user guide is intended for FM Approvals customers using the Approval Information Management (AIM) customer portal to track their active projects.

AIM is an integrated project management solution that is the foundation for managing all information to FM Approvals programs. Benefits of the new system include:

Getting Started

POrTAl Web ADDreSS Access to FM Approvals’ AIM customer portal is available at http://aimcust .fmglobal .com/

InITIAl lOGIn STePS

Step Action1 An email will be sent with your Customer ID and temporary password.

2 open the AIM Customer Access in your web browser. The URl is: http://aimcust.fmglobal.com/

3 enter your email Address and Customer ID

4 enter your temporary password.

5 Click the log In button. You will be brought immediately to the terms and conditions of use page.

6 Read Terms and Conditions of Use agreement.

7 Mark checkbox for I accept Terms of Use

8 Click Continue

9 You will see the following message. Check email for new link to Password Reset page

fOrGOT USernAMe Or PASSWOrD Follow these steps to reset your password:

n The first time you log in. (Begin at step 4)n If you forget your username or password.n Any time you wish to change your password.

Step Action1 Click on login problems, or forgot your password?

2 enter Customer ID and User email

3 Click on Submit request

7 enter new password two times

8 Click ChangePassword

After you click on ChangePassword, you will be logged in with your new password.

MUlTIPle ACCOUnTS Username and password are tied to your FM Approvals Customer ID. If your company has more than one FM Approvals customer ID, you will need to request multiple login usernames.

AUDIenCe only authorized clients of FM Approvals may access this site.

ACTIVe PrOjeCTS Active projects are FM Approvals projects that have been proposed by FM Approvals and authorized by our clients. They will be considered active until they are completed or canceled, either by FM Approvals or by the client.

SeCUrITy PreCAUTIOnS Security is important to FM Approvals and to our clients. Do not share your login or password with others.

VIeWS The following views are available in the AIM Customer Portal

Screen DescriptionProject list All projects that are active or recently closed

Project Details Basic information about a project

Project Milestones Milestone planned, revised and actual dates

Project Comments Project status updates from the project manager

Project Invoices open invoices for the selected project

My Projects

DeSCrIPTIOn The AIM Customer Portal is meant to communicate to customers current progress on their project in an easy-to-read screen.

VIeW Of PrOjeCT lIST SCreen From this view you can see a complete list of active projects. each project will have a traffic light, project ID, project name, technical contact, project manager and state, and status.

n A search option is located at the top of this window.n Click on the project name to navigate to the project details.n Click on the log off link to log out of the system.

PrOjeCT DeTAIl SCreen one of four screens available for each project. This screen shows the Project ID, the (FM Approvals) project manager, the (client) technical contact, the project authorization date, the project traffic light, the state, the status and the local (FM Approvals) engineer.

PrOjeCT MIleSTOneS SCreen This screen shows the milestones and their planned, revised and actual dates.

PrOjeCT COMMenTS SCreen This is a running list of status update comments entered by the project manager.

PrOjeCT InVOICe SCreen This is a list of open invoices for this project.

SeArCh feATUre Here you can enter an FM Approvals Project ID to search for a specific project.

Terms and Definitions

MIleSTOneS The following milestones will be listed for each project:

Milestone DescriptionDocuments Received FM Approvals has received all necessary documents for this project from the customer

Samples Received FM Approvals has received all necessary product samples for this project from the customer

Test/Analysis Start Testing and/or analysis has begun

Successful Test/ Testing and/or analysis for this project has beenAnalysis Finish successfully competed

Draft Report Available The date the internal review process can start.

Project Audit(s) Complete Used for projects when an initial audit is needed. This is the date when the audit(s) is(are) complete

Final Technical The final technical review has been completedReview Complete

Date of Approval The product has been Approved. The product can now be labeled FM Approved.

STATeS The following project states are used in AIM:

State DefinitionProposal The customer has requested a proposal and FM Approvals is developing and reviewing the proposal.

Pre-Test/Pre-Analysis The project has been authorized, but testing and/or analysis has not yet begun.

Test/Analysis FM Approvals has begun testing and/or analysis

Report Generation The report is in development

Finalization The product has been Approved

Terms and Definitions

PrOjeCT rOleS The following roles are seen in the AIM Customer Access:

role DescriptionProject Manager The FM Approvals engineer managing this project

Technical Contact The customer’s technical contact for this project

local engineer Your local FM Approvals contact

STATUSeS The following project statuses are used in AIM subdivisions of the states defined on page 12:

Status DefinitionProposal Development The customer has requested a proposal and an FM Approvals’ engineer is developing the proposal.

Proposal Review The FM Approvals team is reviewing the draft proposal.

Sent to Customer The proposal package has been approved and sent toAwaiting Authorization the customer.

Active FM Approvals is actively working on this project.

Report Development The project report is being written/developed.

Report Review The project report is being reviewed.

Compilation and The product has been approved and the report andDissemination certificate are sent to the customer.

Program Complete The documents are confirmed and archived.

Customer Hold The project is on hold due to customer constraints.

FM Approvals Hold The project is on hold due to FM Approvals constraints.

Awaiting Customer Hold A request has been made to put a project on customer hold.

Awaiting A request has been made to put a project onFM Approvals Hold FM Approvals hold.

Cancelled The project has been cancelled.

not Approved FM Approval has not been granted.

STOPlIGhT COlOrS

Color DescriptionGreen The project is on track.

Yellow The project was experiencing problems, but those problems have been resolved.

Red The project is experiencing problems that need to be resolved.

Grey no status is available online because the project is not being processed through AIM. For these projects no AIM status or milestone plan is available. Please contact the project manager for further details.
