The writer: Mary Shelley Mary Shelley was born in London and was the daughter of the philosopher William Godwin and of Mary Wollstonecraft, died 10 days after her daughter’s birth. She fell in love with the poet Percy Shelley and they travelled around Europe visiting France, Germany, Switzerland. During one of their travels Mary thought about writing a book. Her first book is called “Frankenstein”, then she wrote other five books.
