2. Adjetivos y pronombres posesivos.
Acompañan a
Here is your bag. Where is mine?
Aquí está tu bolsa. ¿Dónde está la mía?

3. Pronombres indefinidos (some y any)
más elementales: some y any.
Some
Significa algunos, algunas.
afirmativa:
I have got some oranges.
Tengo algunas naranjas.
Would you like some milk?
'A little'.
I have got a little money.
Yo tengo un poco de dinero.
'A few'. La utilizaremos con sustantivos en plural.
I have got a few friends.
Tengo algunos amigos.
Any
Significa algún,alguno/a, ningún, ninguna.
Curso de Inglés Básico II
10
afirmativa o negativa.
Are there any apples here?
¿Hay alguna manzana aquí?
Do you have any friends there?
¿tienes algún amigo allí?
I don’t have any friend.
No tengo ningún amigo.
En las frases afirmativas any significa cualquier:
Bring me any book you can find / Tráeme cualquier libro que puedas
encontrar

(to
eat, to sing, to drink…)
Walking is a good habit.
Andar es un buen hábito.
It’s good to see you.
verbales.
I am reading.
Estoy leyendo.
hace algo.
She went to France to learn French.
Ella fue a Francia para aprender francés.
- Después de preposiciones siempre usamos el gerundio.
I use the frying pan for cooking
verbos: come, enjoy, finish, go, regret, suggest, understand…
manage, need, offer, plan, promise, refuse,
prefer, start, try, wish.

Actor (actor) actress (actriz)
Prince (príncipe) princess (princesa)
Waiter (camarero) waitress (camarera)
Hero (héroe) heroine (heroína)
Widow (viuda) widower (viudo)
Brother (hermano) sister (hermana)
Man (hombre) woman (mujer)
Father (padre) mother (madre)
Husband (marido) wife (mujer)
Curso de Inglés Básico II
14
male/ female, boy/girl:
Baby (bebé)
Teacher (professor/a) a male teacher a female teacher
Friend (amigo/a) a boy friend a girl friend
Doctor (médico)
Dentist (dentista)
Party parties

Fiesta fiestas
idioma.
Man men
Hombre hombres
Person people
Persona personas
Foot feet
Pie pies
A Fish some fish
Un pescado algunos pescados
A sheep some sheep
Una oveja algunas ovejas
- algunos sustantivos van a utilizar siempre la forma plural.
Trousers four trousers
Pantalones cuatro pantalones
Glasess two glasess
Gafas dos gafas
Stairs
Escaleras

The door of the house.
La puerta de la casa.
The window of the room.
enumeramos.
Ann and John’s car.
El coche de Ana y Juan.
Curso de Inglés Básico II
18
My brothers’ cars.
Los coches de mis hermanos.
Friday, Saturday, April, August…
- Las fechas históricas, días festivos…
Christmas, Independence Day…
-los nombres de los países.
Spain, Germany…
-las nacionalidades:
French, British, Chinese…
-los idiomas:
French, English…
-los nombres propios:
Bill, Jim, Ann…
summer, spring, winter, autumn.

cosas utilizamos la fórmula: as + adjetive + as
Tom is as tall as Maria.
Tom es tan alto como María.
That car is as expensive as yours.
La forma negativa se forma con: not as + adjective + as
He is not as young as you.
fórmula: less + adjective + than
Tom is less tall as you.
This boy is cleverer than Peter.
Este chico es tan listo como Pedro.
This bag is newer than the other one.
comparativo con more + than.
This book is more interesting than yours.
She is the happiest girl.
superlativo con the most.
This book is the most interesting.
consonante.
Big bigger, the biggest
!!!!
Curso de Inglés Básico II
21
Happy happier, the happiest
Blue bluer, the bluest
siguientes:
adjective comparative superlative
good better the best
bad worse the worst
little less the least
far further the furthest

9. Question words.
Peter buys a book.
Who buys a book?
What does Peter buy?
a. What o Which.
posibles respuestas. Es la pregunta más general.
What do you prefer?
¿qué prefieres?

COMO SUJETO
Pronombre interrogativo verbo

What is your favourite colour?
Which sport do you prefer basketball or tennis?
¿qué deporte prefieres baloncesto o tenis?
Which is your house?
¿cuál es tu casa? (de las que tenemos delante)
b. Question tags.
tomaremos el verbo to be, to have o to can, que aparece en la oración, en
el caso de que no sea ninguno de ellos, tomaremos el auxiliar (do, does,
did) o en su caso el verbo modal que aparezca (will, must, could…).
It's nice, isn't it?
Es bonito, ¿verdad?
You will come to London next winter, won't you?

10. To CAN.
Veamos algunos casos.
Su estructura es la siguiente:
AFIRMATIVA NEGATIVA INTERROGATIVA
I can I cannot (I can’t) Can I?
You can You cannot (you can’t) Can you?
He can
She can
It can
He cannot (He can’t)

11. Pasado simple.
I went shopping last weekend.
The Romans were very powerful.
pasado.
I worked many years in Madrid.
To want wanted
To repeat repeated
“–t”. (el sonido de la –e cae).
To talk talked
To help helped
To miss missed
To play played
To listen listened
To call called
To prefer prefered

12. There is/are. There was/were.
sustantivos incontables.
There is a table.
Hay una mesa.
There is some sugar.
Hay un poco de azúcar.
Utilizaremos there are para sustantivos contables plurales.
There are apples in the fridge.
Hay manzanas en la nevera.
Las expresiones there was y there were constituyen las mismas
There was a table.
Había una mesa.
There was some sugar.
!!!!
En los sustantivos contables ponemos a/an delante

13. Conjunciones.
a. Conjunciones coordinantes
And y
But pero
However sin embargo
Or o
So así
Then entonces
Therefore por lo tanto
Yet aún
She has a dog and a cat.
Ella tiene un perro y un gato.
My bedroom is blue and white, but my sister’s bedroom is pink and
yellow.
Although aunque
As como
After después
Before antes
If si
Since desde
So that por lo que
Until hasta
When cuando

14. Future simple.

utilizando otra construcción: to be going to.
Curso de Inglés Básico II
36
The sky is cloudy. It's going to rain.
Will se
hablar.
I’m going to buy an ice-cream.
Me voy a comprar un helado.
Are you going to read that novel?
¿Vas a leer esa novela?
The phone is ringing. I´ll get it.
El teléfono está sonando. Yo lo cogeré.

15. Future continuous.
When you arrive I will be studying.
Cuando llegues, estaré estudiando.
At this time tomorrow, she will be working.
A esta hora mañana, ella estará trabajando.

16. Present Perfect.
verbo utiliza como auxiliar el to have. Veamos su conjugación:

17. Present Perfect continuous.
Su estructura va a ser la siguiente: Sujeto + have/has + been+ verbo –ing
