MI-ACCESS OR DYNAMIC LEARNING MAPS?
DLM’s are the proposed replacement for the MI-Access • No decision has been made yet as to when Michigan will
move to DLM’s, due to lack of pilot participation For students who require an alternate assessment, continue to use MI-Access and Extended Grade Level Content Expectations. Once a decision has been made to utilize DLM’s, staff should begin to utilize Common Core Essential Elements.

HOW DO WE WRITE THAT IN THE IEP?
IEP teams answering YES to, “Does the student need to take an alternate assessment instead of a particular MEAP/MME assessment?” must provide under “Rationale”:
1.) A statement of why the student cannot participate in
the regular assessment, and 2.) List the particular alternate assessment selected for
the student. Until further notice, please include:
“The student will take MI-Access or DLM assessment if available.”
WHAT ABOUT THE MEAP-ACCESS?
The MEAP – Access is no longer an option for students.
The Smarter Balanced Assessment is a Computer
