Solicited contributionsOther contributionsFigures from my research have been solicited for republication in 19 journal reviews, 56 textbooks and 3 educational CD/ROMs. I granted a copyright to the University of Michigan for reproductions of eight of my photographs to be sold in annual fund-raising activities.

Details: The following have solicited micrographs that I produced using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-voltage electron microscopy and light microscopy. The figures taken from my work illustrate development of the neural tube, neural crest, spinal cord, limb, eye, head, somite, extracellular matrix, nerves and cultured cells. The list below does not represent republication of one or two individual micrographs. Those on neural crest and early development in particular have set the community’s conception from their first publication in the 1970/80’s and continue to be reproduced in reviews and textbooks as archetypes, forever setting the communities conception of these crucial embryonic structures.

Public DisplaysMy materials were used in a computer-based educational exhibit on early brain development and

malformations for the 2011 Radiology Society of North America, developed by Nishant Mehta, M.D.

My two posters on “How to Design a Poster” and “How NOT to Design a Poster” were solicited to be displayed in the University of Michigan Central Library.

My posters and PowerPoint presentation on preparing effective posters are being used in a yearly assessment symposium at the University of North Texas, beginning in 2013.

Eight of my research photographs were chosen by the University of Michigan for display and sale in the Ann Arbor Art Fair, 2005-present. Only 100 figures total were chosen from the entire University of Michigan faculty.
