Professional Positions 2007-present Specialist 1994-2007 Associate Specialist Center on the Family University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa

Major responsibilities: Conduct research on children and families relevant to Hawai‘i; obtain external grant funds; develop and disseminate research-based materials for families and service providers; consult with other Center projects; contribute to the B.S. program in Family and Consumer Science, the M.Ed. Program in Early Childhood Education and Development, and the Ph.D. programs in psychology, educational psychology and teacher education; professional and community service. Appointed as a cooperating graduate faculty member of the departments of educational psychology (6/1996), psychology (4/1997), and curriculum studies (10/1997). This appointment includes research, instruction, and cooperative extension FTE.

1988-1994 Assistant Professor Department of Human Development and Family Studies University of North Carolina at Greensboro Major responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in child

1987-1988 Postdoctoral Fellow Oregon Social Learning Center Major responsibilities: Research using the Oregon Youth Study longitudinal data

base, data analysis using structural equations modeling procedures; participation in clinical activities of the Center, including cotherapist in treatment with families of antisocial children, and intervention design and family therapy in a pilot adolescent drug use prevention program.

Conducted diagnostic evaluations of language delayed children and supervised parents in the implementation of a home-based language intervention program.
