Whatiscurriculummapping?

Theprocessofassociatingcourseoutcomeswithprogram-levellearningoutcomesandaligning

elementsofcourses(e.g.teachingandlearningactivities,assessmentstrategies)withina

program,toensurethatitisstructuredinastrategic,thoughtfulwaythatenhancesstudent

learning(Dyjur&Kalu,2017).

WhatisCurriculumLinks?

CurriculumLinksisanonlinetooldesignedtomakecurriculummappingsimpleandeasy.The

toolenablesadministratorstosetupcurriculumprojectstogatherinformationenteredby

instructorsabouttheircourses.

Forexample,acurriculumprojectcangatherinformationaboutteachingandlearningactivities,

studentassessmentmethodsandhowcourselearningoutcomesalignwithprogram-level

learningoutcomes.Onceallcourseshavebeenmapped,thedatacanbeaggregatedtoproduce

curriculummaps.

whatdatatocollectbasedontheneedsofthecurriculumreviewandthetypeofprogrambeing

mapped.

WhatistheoverallprocesswhenusingCurriculumLinks?

Curriculummappinghasthreesteps:

1.Createacurriculumproject Anadministratorcreatesanewcurriculumprojectand

assignsinstructorstomapcoursesintheprogram.

2.Mapcoursestotheprogram Instructorsmaptheircoursesandsubmittheinformation.

3.Generatereports Administratorscreatereportswiththeaggregatedata.


MappingyourcoursewithCurriculumLinks

Basedontheneedsofthecurriculumproject,administratorssetuptheprojecttogather

informationaboutindividualcoursesfrominstructors.Instructorsareassignedoneormorecoursesthattheyteachandareguidedthroughastep-by-stepprocesstoenterallrequired

information.Notallprojectswillrequireallthesesteps,butyoumaybeaskedtoenterthe

followinginformationaboutyourcourse:

Administratorsmakekeydecisionaboutwhatdatainstructorswill

enterabouttheircourses.Theyalsocreatethecoursestobemapped

andassigninstructorstodothemapping.

Instructor Instructorsareassignedcoursestomapaspartofacurriculum

project.Theycanmapacourseandthensubmitthisinformationto

theadministratorofcurriculumproject.

Oncesubmitted,courseinformationcannolongerbeeditedbutinstructorscanviewasummaryanddownloadareportofthecourse

data.
