Annexure- ll Curricula Vitae of various Executives Shri A.K. Jha. CMD & Director (Technicall Shri A.K. Jha (aged 58 years), is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Sindri, Ranchi University and has done LL.B. from Delhi University. He joined NTPC in L977 as Executive Trainee (2nd Batch). He was directly associated with the NTPC's flagship Project i.e. Singrauli (5x200 MW) as part of erection team. He has rich and varied experience of 38 years in NTpC in all the areas of Power Project i.e. Design & Engineering, Project Planning & Monitoring and Project Construction & Management. He joined NTPC Board in July'2012 as Director (Technical). He is responsible for concept to Investment approval of projects, complete engineering during the development of the project, engineering support during O&M phase of the station and engineering for R&M of NTpC's aged power stations for enhancing life and efficiency of power plant, for the entire portfolio of NTpC i.e Thermal, Hydro, Renewable. ln case of Renewable, he has whole responsibility i.e policy advocacy, business development, Project contracting, Engineering and commissioning. He is also responsible for, R & D through NETRA (NTPC Energy Technology and Research Alliance), induction of environment friendly technologies like Ultra Super Critical/ Advance Ultra super Critical, lnformation technology initiatives including Enterprise Resource planning (ERp) and Environmental Engineering. Shri U.P. Pani. Director (HR & Commercial) Shri U'P. Pani is a Graduate in Electrical Engineeringfrom BtTS ptLANt(i.97g) and joined NTpC in November, 1978 as (3rd batch) Executive Trainee. He has worked in Erection, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Technical Services Deptt. of Korba STPS (3x200+3x500MW) and Talchar STPS, (6x500MW). He worked as Business Unit Head (BUH) of NSpCL (joint Venture of NTpC & SAIL) at Bhilai and Durgapur. He was Head of NTPC Kahalgaon (4x210 MW+3x5OOMW) project. During his tenure, all three 500 MW Units of Kahalgaon Stage-ll were commercialized. He was Head of Project of frfTPC'Sbiggest plant, i.e. Vindhyachal STPp (426OMW). On j.5th March 2OLO, Sh. Pani took over as Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region-l) and was responsible for overallfunctioning of various regional projects of NTPC and projects of various subsidiaries and joint venture of NTPC. As BUH in the capacity of GM & RED at various locations and regions, he has also been responsible for HR functions and has steered numbers of HR initiatives. As Director (HR), Shri Pani is responsible for the entire Human Resource functions of the organization. He is also responsible for the Power Management lnstitute (pMl) of NTpC and other corporate functions such as lndustribl Safety, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Medical Services and Corporate Security & Coordination. Shri S.C. Pandey has taken over the charge as Director (Projects), NTpC with effect fromforenoon of 1st October 2013.

ShriS.C. Pandey (56 years) is B.E. in lnstrumentation. He joined NTPC in November, 1978 as (3rdbatch) Executive Trainee. He has about 34 years of comprehensive experience in managementof large size power project in the areas of engineering, project construction and power plantoperation and maintenance. He has a strong background in managing, operating andmaintaining few of the largest stations of the country and has a rich experience and exposure ofentire life cycle from concept to commissioning of Greenfield project.

As Executive Director (Project Planning & Monitoring), he was responsible for planning andimplementation of pre-award and post-award activities related to Thermal, Hydro, Coal mining,Renewable Energy, R&M and international JVs, analyzing and identifying bottlenecks andcritical issues and suggesting corrective actions for their timely resolution.

Shri Kulamani Biswal. Director (Financel

Shri Kulamani Biswal aged 52 years, a Commerce Graduate from Utkal University is a fellow inCost Accountancy along with having distinct professional qualifications of MBA from New portUniversity, California, USA; LLB from Sambalpur University and Diploma in FinancialManagement from IGNOU.

The most attributable features of Shri Biswal having been bestowed upon the presentresponsibilities are his flair in financial fundamentals; updated knowledge base and knack inbusiness networking. shri Biswal. started his career with coal lndia Limited in 1gg5. Later hejoined Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission at Director level in 1997.ln 2004, he wasappointed as Chief (Finance), Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (at the level of JointSecretary to the Government of lndia). ln CERC, he played a key role in formulation of TariffRegulations 2009-74 and formation of new company called POSOCO to take care of SystemOperation and Load Dispatch activities. He also acted as lnternal Financial Advisor in CERC as anadded responsibility.

Prior to joining NTP€, h? was Director (Finance) in Mahanadi coalfields Limited (MCL) sinceoctober 20L0' ln MCL, he was responsible for the entire Financial Management of the companyincluding treasury, investments, accounting, internal control systems, budgetary controls andcorporate governance' He played a pivotal role in making MCL as second largest coal companyin lndia in terms of production and profitability. His astute financial acumen resulted inoptimum utilization of funds amounting to Rs.15,000 crore earning interest revenue at the rateof Lo%o, reduction in debtors position to just 4 days, settlement of old lncome Tax cases,thereby enabling MCL to achieve highest ever Profits during his tenure. Besides Coalproduction, he took various initiatives towards diversification of business like setting upTh'ermal Power Generation Plant, Solar Plant, entering into Transmission business anddeveloping logistics for coal evacuation. t k^l

Shri K.K. Sharma (57 years) is graduate in Mechanical Engg. and MBA in Finance. He has anillustrious career spanning over 39 years of outstanding contribution in the areas of Mega-Budget Thermal, Hydro Power and Coal Mining Projects as a Professional Manager, StrategicPlanner and a Business Leader. He has led several strategic initiatives for execution of projectsas well as achieving operational excellence.

He had been Business Unit Head (BUH) of NTPC-SAIL Power Company Private Limited'sDurgapur Station, General Manager of Farakka Super Thermal Power Station and,GeneralManager of Hydro Electric Power Project of NTPC. He had Regional Executive Director (HydroRegion), Executive Director (Coal mining/ Coal Washeries), Regional Executive Director (East-ll),Executive Director (Project Planning & Monitoring), NTPC and Chief Executive Officer of NTpC-SAIL Power Company Private Limited. Shri Sharma, through his multi-disciplinary approach inEngineering, O&M Management and financial areas, has made turnaround of NSpCL's Durgapurby ramping up PLF from 63%to 81% and of Farakka STPS from 69%to 8I%. He played thepivotal role in resolving resettlement and rehabilitation issues in Koldam, gettingforests andenvironment clearances for captive mines of NTPC, developing business process for minedevelopment, Green Field Projects Construction, SAP implementation & introduction of ERp-pSmodule for on-line monitoring of projects.

As a Director (Operations), he is overall responsible for the activities relating to sustainedoperation including fuel management of all NTpC stations.

Shri Pradeep Kumar aged 52 years, an lndian Administrative Service Officer of Kerala Cadre, is

During his illustrious career of 26 years as IAS officer, he has held various administrativepositions in the areas of Revenue, Finance, Transport, Shipping, lnland Water Transportation,Water Resources, lrrigation, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Environment andForests. Prior to joining as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Power, he wasPrincipal Secretary, Environment and Forest Department, Government of Kerala.

Shri Prashant Mehta. lndependent Director

Shri Prashant Mehta, aged 61years, an lndian Administrative Services Officer of MadhyaPradesh Cadre, is a graduate in Science and post-graduate in Physics from University ofJabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He retired as Director General, Academy of Administration, Bhopal,Government of Madhya Pradesh in November 2011,. During his illustrious career of 36 years asIAS officer, he had held various administrative positions in Madhya pradesh Governmentdepartments including education, civil aviation, rdilways, revenue, mines, forests, etc. He hadbeen actively associated with MP Cricket Association and had been Chairman, OrganisingCommittee for One-day lnternational Cricket matches from 1996 to 2011 at Gwalior. presently,

he is Vice-President of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, Executive president of the GwaliorDivision Cricket Association and also the Chairman of WWF (Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh).He had been Managing Director of Kailaras Sugar Factory Morena and Government NomineeDirector on the Board of NALCO, BALCO, Hindustan Zinc Limited and Hindustan DiamondsLimited.

Shri Prashant Mehta has taken the charge as Non-Official Part-time Director (lndependentDirector) on the Board of NTPC w.e.f. 30.07.2013.

Shri Rajesh Jain, aged 48-years,is an Electrical Engineer from llT, Mumbai and MS (ElectricalEngineering) from tblumUia University, New York. He worked as Member of Technical Staff atNYNEX, USA for 2 years before returning to lndia to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams in L992.He is Founder - Managing Director of netCore Solutions Private Limited, lndia's leadingprovider of digital real-time communications and marketing solutions for enterprises via emailand mobile.

One of his early ventures, lndia World Communications, launced in 1995 was acquired bySatyam lnforway in November 1999 for USS115 million in one of Asia's largest internet deals.He is also the Founder and Chairman of Emergic Venture Capital.

Dr. Gauri Trivedi, aged 55 years,M.A. (Political Science)from JNU, Delhi, M. phil (soviet Studies),JNU, Delhi, Doctorate in Philosophy from lnstitute of Social & Economic Change, Bangalore andlnstitute of Development Studies, Mysore and PGPPM from lndian lnstitute of Management(llM), Bangalore. During her illustrious career, she had held number of administrative posts inKarnataka including Assistant Commissioner, Joint Director (Commerce and lndustry), ChiefSecretary/ Director (Rural Development and Panchayati Raj), Deputy Commissioner (Excise),Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies. She had also been General Manager (Handloom &Handicrafts Export Corporation), Director of Tea Promotion (WANA), Managing Director(HESCOM), a power distribution company, Managing Director (Karnataka State Food & CivilSupplies Corporation), Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Govt. of Karnataka andSecretary to the Governor of Karnataka.

ln August 2OO7 , Dr. Gauri Trivedi took Voluntary Retirement from the Government of lndia dueto her personal reasons.

After VRS, she was Vice President RRL and Director SIRD. She had been guest faculty in a

number of reputed institutes teaching governance, public policy, rural planning andmanagement.

She is currently guest faculty at llM, Sardar Patel lnstitute of Public Administration, CEptAhmedabad and Consultant AllLsG. She teaches government officers, Civil Servant aspirants,young students and NGOs the public policy, rural planning and management, current affairs andgovernance.

She has done a project for World Bank on Street vendors and is currently doing the project forthe Government of M! on-Women Beneficial programs.

Dr. Gauri Trivedi has joined as lndependlnt Director (Non-Official part-time Director) on theBoard of NTPC w.e.f. 18.11.2015.
