Death practices in Oro Province

Garamut is beaten to send message to the villagers.

People bring food to the mourning place.

Immediate family members are not allowed to do other physical activities.

Body of the deceased is exposed for two days

• Beat the garamut to send message to the community.

• Holds mourning period for two days.

• Hauskrai is held in front of the house of the deceased.

• Culture is important because it shapes us to be who we are.
