Mexico

● Colonialism - Mexico was colonized by Spain from 1519 to 1821.● Cultures- Mexico is known for its pre-Columbia architecture used in the public, and

building structure. Mexican fine art were influenced by the European tradition. Diego Rivera, Jose Clemete, and David Alfara become the world famous for their grand murals, displaying social messages. Enrique Norton, the founder of Ten Arquitector has

been awarded for his work in modern architecture.

● Economy- Mexico has a very good manufacturing business. They import aircrafts,

aircraft parts, and oil production equipment. They export electronics, fruits and vegetables, and cotton. 90% of Mexican trade is under a free trade agreement with more than 40 countries. Mexico has a population of 75.21million.

● Life Today- More than 10% of Mexico’s native people live aboard, making Mexico the country with the most emigrants in the world. 97% of all Mexicans emigrants migrate to the USA that is more than 12 million legal&Illegal migrants. Mexico has the region’s second best educated children. In Maths it is improving faster than anywhere else, parenting has been used to improve education within school studies. Mexican themselves need jobs. They aren’t much jobs in Mexico but farming, and manufacturing.

Central America & The Caribbean

● Colonialism in Central American- In 1492, the arrival of Christopher Columbus the Spanish Empire expand across present day Central American, Caribbean Islands, and Mexico. The revolutionary movement resulted in the independence of most Spanish colonies in America, which resulted in the Spanish losing these countries.

● Colonialism in the Caribbean- The modern history in the USA started with the history of the Caribbean. From the time Europeans settled into what they called the New-World, the Caribbean has played a major role in the foundation of the world. The Europeans destroyed the civilization of the Arawaks, and the Carib. The Caribbean was colonized by the British, Dutch, and the French.

● Culture In Central American- Languages that are spoken in Central America are Spanish, English, and Mayan. In Central America they tend to play Latin music, cumbia, and salsa. The main religion in Central America is Christianity, mostly Roman Catholics.

● Culture In The Caribbean- Languages that are spoken in The Caribbean are Spanish, French, Dutch, and English. In The Caribbean they listen to calypso, dancehall, soca, and reggae. The main religions in The Caribbean are Christianity, Roman Catholics, and Rastafarian.

● Economy In Central America- The countries in Central America are going through poverty issues. They are very poor spanish countries. The population distribution for El Salvador is 5,047,925, and population distribution for Honduras is 5,783,000. Central America is known for its tourist attraction. They have the Arenal Volcano that is located in Costa Rica, its a great place to get some adventure. The best time to see it is at night, when the lava and the rocks glow.

● Economy In The Caribbean- The Caribbean Economy is the world leader, when it comes to productions and the export of goods. The most significant is the production of sugar cane. Sugar cane was the major export for most Caribbean countries. Now, the sugar cane factories has been closed down, that has some effects to the economy. The population distribution for St.Kitts&Nevis is 54,000, and the population distribution for the Bahamas is 351,000. The Caribbean is well-known for its tourist atttractions. One of the major attraction is the year-round sunny weather. When some countries are experiencing their winter, most people come to the Caribbean for vacation. You also have swimming with the turtles in Barbados.

● Spanish Speaking South America- This civilization was created by them Inca descendants of people who came across a land bridge from Siberia to Alaska then, crossed the Isthmus of Panama in South America. When they reached the coast of South America they found the Andes Mountain. They Inca built their empires on foundations they then extended their powers. They brought other tribes under their control and built a great empire. Two great leaders of independence movements were Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín. Martín helped to free the countries of Argentina, Chile, and Peru from Spanish rules. Military rule have characterized the governments of many countries of South America, since they won their independence from Spain.

● Culture In Spanish Speaking Countries- South American writers gets the worlds attention with their extraordinary novels. The most famous writer of these people are Gabriel García Márquez, he won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1982. Visiting the South American you can hear street music everywhere you go. Musicians play drums, guitars, and flutes among with other instruments. This music is combined with African, European, and Indian. Craft and handmade items can be found throughout the whole Latin American countries. Items like pottery, textiles, and glass work. Most handmade items are decorated for religious symbols.

● Economy Spanish Speaking Countries- Most countries in South America are based upon agricultural and mining. The income gap between rich and poor depends on the poverty of the countries, and the movement of economically developing. Chile is South America’s most successful economic base. Chile exports fruits and vegetables to North America. Chile has a large deposit in copper which is one of its biggest exports.

● Education in Spanish Speaking South America- The Spanish Speaking Countries in South America has a high literacy rate than Mexico, and islands in the Caribbean. In Argentina and Chile the literacy rate is higher than 90 percent; women and men have the same literacy rate. Education is very important in Chile. When the kids are between the ages of 6 and 13, they have to attend school, and education is free. Today, they are many business schools that have contributed to Chile’s economic success.

● Brazil- Brazil was home for most native people. The first Portuguese colonist hopes were to find gold and silver. The Portuguese colonist got a piece of land and created a sugar plantation. Brazil became the source of wealth for Portuguese because sugar was doing well. Brazil remained a Portuguese colony from 1500 to 1822. Many of the Brazilians wanted to declare independence from Portugal. Dom Pedro agreed to declare Brazil as an independent country.

● Culture In Brazil- Today, only about 200,000 native people live in the Amazon rain forest. Many native people died from diseases brought from the Europeans. Today,

Brazil has the largest Catholic population in the world. Protestant only make up 20 percent of the population. The architect Oscar Niemeyer designed the building for the capital of Brasilia. Locating the capital 600 miles inland was to attract people to the

interior. ● Economy In Brazil- Natural resources have helped Brazil in many different ways.

They import iron, bauxite, and other minerals used in manufacturing. They also supply gold, silver, titanium, and chromite. Brazil has a vast gap between rich and poor. Most Brazilians find jobs to improve their life of living. In 1960, about 22 percent of the population lived in the city. By, 1995, more than 75 percent of the population lived in the cities, so as the years go on more people tend to move to the city.

● Life Today- The most colorful feast(event) in Brazil is Carnival. In Rio de Janeiro people decorate them self in costumes and ride on floats through the streets. On Carnival they play a genre of music that is name samba, originated by the Africans. Capoeira is a type of martial art and dance that is performed in Brazil. Brasilia is the political capital of Brazil, Sao Paulo is the economic heart and largest city of Brazil, and Rio de Janeiro is the cultural center of Brazil. Sugarloaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay are some tourist attractions. Poor places in Brazil are called favelas, crime incidents and drug abuse are results of poverty.
