Our School Meals Programs Teach:
1.Food is nourishment and whole foods are better than highly
processed foods. Choose a variety of nutrient-dense foods
across and within all food groups.
2.The food we eat affects our health now and in the future. All
food and beverage choices matter.
3.Food is part of our culture.
4.Food takes resources to grow, produce, prepare and serve.
5.Nutritious food can look and taste good.

Culinary Skills for A+ School MealsSchool nutrition operations are transforming. Regulations require schools to offer more fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Our students are looking for more flavorful, fresher, and more up to date menu items, similar to what they see in restaurants. This 5 day training focuses on healthier ways to prepare and serve more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and salads while enhancing flavors and meeting the demands of our guests. We prepared, tasted and evaluated approximately 100 recipes!
