Gail Buckley, Founder and President of Catholic Scripture Study (CSS), converted to the Catholic faith in 1994. Soon after her conversion, Gail felt God leading her on a path

which culminated in her developing the CSS Program in 2003. She saw a need for group Bible studies that not only offered fellowship, but studies that were more in-depth, structured and faithful to the teachings of the Church.

Because priests are so busy, she wanted it to be a program that any lay person could lead. In the CSS Program, one does not need any training or experience to lead a group study.

Gail Buckley's vision of a "resource" Bible for Catholics was made possible when a publisher asked her to compile and edit such a Bible. 

Securing permission for some parts and writing others herself, 76 pages of Apologetics, Faith Facts, a Topical Index, Mass Readings and more are included in this RSV, large-print Bible. Available on the CSS website and book stores nationwide.

We offer course certificates for all our studies. An increasing number of dioceses offer religious education course credits for catechists and catholic school teachers who complete CSS study courses.
