Aravind is able to provide free eye care to two-thirds of its patients from the revenue generated from the other one third of its paying patients.
It also manufacturing in ocular lenses and export in US and European countries from which they earn hefty profits and use that money to run Aravind Eye Hospitals.

In 1991, ARAVIND set up a factory to produce 60,000 inocular lenses per year (reduces cost of glass from Rs.800 to 200)
