Daily CSP contribution during Peak Hours for the period of 1 Jan~ 30 Jun 2016
Daily peak-hour energy contribution of Kaxu CSP power plant with a capacity of 100 MW with only 3 hours of storage (South Africa): The average hourly contribution during evening peak-hour for the first six months of 2016 was approximately 70 MW.

Remarks on the storage size
For flexible operation and evening peaks: a smaller storage is sufficient (-> Noor projects)
Larger Storage (>10h) -> base load generation
Strong dependency on
Marginal price of storage and solar field size
Competitive to other power plants (and expansion plan for flexible pp)
Structure of demand
Role of PV and wind (resource of wind)
Size of storage strongly impacts absolute volume of investment (of course also the absolute output of energy)
