WORKING PRINCIPLE
Standard InducerUnder cavitation condition, the gas bubbles are accumulating at thefront of the inducer (turbulence area in light blue) as the cross-section area of flow is reduced (white arrow).In front of the inducer, the volume (Va) is large between the pumpsuction flange and the inducer, thus, it is reducing the NPSHa andit is causing a lost of prime
As cryogenic pumps cannot be operated under cavitation, therewill be a premature wear on the pump parts.
Cryomec® SuperchargerUnder the same condition, if the pump is equiped with Cryomec®Supercharger, it allows a best aspiration of the flow towards theimpeller as the gas bubble are continously aspirated into theimpeller (larger cross-section area of flow - white arrow). Conicalshape optimized the flow direction and head losses are reducedwithin the Supercharger compared with the inducer
Moreover, as the volume (Vb) between the pump suction flangeand Supercharger is significantly reduced, there is no accumulationat the front of the Supercharger and the NPSHa is increasedsignificantly.
Thanks to this device, there is no loss of priming and the pumplifetime will be enhanced.The NPSHr of the pump equiped with the Supercharger will beclose to zero.
