CROSSROADS NEWS January 30, 2017
One Week Until Re-enrollment Opens!
Re-enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year will begin on
Monday, February 6, with a two-week window to re-enroll at a
discounted rate. During the December board meeting, the CCS school
board approved to not increase tuition for next school year, with
fees also staying the same. CCS is also lowering the re-enrollment
fee for those families who re-enroll during the re-enrollment
period. From Monday, February 6, through Saturday, February 18,
families can re-enroll for only $150 per child, a $100 discount per
child. The enrollment fee becomes $250 on Sunday, February 19.
We are thankful for all of our CCS families, and we look forward
to continuing our partnership with you as we train our young men
and women to serve Christ and to be leaders with a Christian
worldview.
Do You Know a Family Who Would Like to Visit CCS?
We are available for meetings and tours for any new family
interested in Crossroads. Simply have them call Beth Pegram at
252-431-1333 to set up an appointment. The new family enrollment
period opens on Monday, February 20. There is no greater way to
reach new students than by a recommendation from a current
family.
As a thank you to current families who recommend CCS, we offer a
new student referral discount to help offset the cost of tuition.
Many families have taken advantage of the referral discount over
the past few years, and because of those recommendations, CCS has
given out over $35,000 in referral discounts. Thank you to everyone
who helped bring new families to our school!

NHS News
Thirteen members of the National Honor Society picked up trash
for Adopt-a-Highway on Wednesday, January 18. These members
collected 14 bags of trash from our road in just under an hour! We
pick up from Julia Road to the stop light, although the DOT posted
our signs out a bit further than that. Our next pick-up date will
be in spring.
On February 15, the NHS chapter will put together a meal and
deliver it to the men’s homeless shelter at the First Presbyterian
Church in Henderson. February is also our annual induction month.
The 2017 induction ceremony for new members will be Wednesday,
February 22, during chapel period. Eleven new candidates who met
the initial academic requirement were invited to submit their
information for evaluation by a Faculty Council. After the Faculty
Council meets, letters of invitation for induction will go out in
the next week. To find out more about candidate selection
requirements, visit the NHS page on our school website.
Lower School Students “Caught Being Third”
To go along with the school theme this year, the lower school
faculty started a “Caught Being Third” bulletin board in the lower
school hallway.
Students who are seen (caught) putting others before self will
have a badge placed on the bulletin board for the month. Students
are then recognized in chapel for placing others before
themselves.

Athlete of the Month
Noah Brantley is an 8th grader who excels both on and off the
court. Noah is one of the nicest young men you will ever meet. He
exemplifies what it means to be a stellar student athlete. Noah is
having a phenomenal year on the MS basketball team and is averaging
double figures with respect to both points and rebounds. More
impressive than this, however, is Noah's character. He treats
people with dignity, respect and kindness. He sets a great example
for all those around him.
Our January Athlete of the month goes to a great athlete
(basketball and soccer) and a great young man: Mr. Noah
Brantley!

StuCo Hosts a Parents’ Night Out Feb. 10
On Friday, February 10, our Student Council will be hosting a
night of child care. Use this time to take your spouse out to
dinner or enjoy some quiet time at home. While you're out having
fun and enjoying the evening, your kids will be playing games,
watching a movie, and completing a Valentine craft. They will need
to bring their own snack for after school, and we will provide
pizza for dinner and an additional snack. Festivities will begin
after school and continue until 9:00 p.m.
The cost of this event is $30 per child for the first two
children and $20 for each additional child in your family. All
money goes to the Student Council of CCS. Reservation forms are
available at the front office and on the school website at
http://ccscolts.org/site/student-life/student-council/
Please RSVP by Wednesday, Feb. 8. (We will not accept late
registrations due to the preparation involved for this event—thank
you for understanding!)
