WHOLE HEART CROCHET IN THE ROUND – WITHOUT TO FINISH ROUNDS.
INSTRUCTIONS:
We start with a MAGIC CIRCLE (see pics), which has the great advantage that it can be tighten and a hole on
the top of hat is minimized.
We will make a loop and pull yarn: 1st
loop tighten (doesn’t count as stitch) + CH 1:
1st
R: into MAGIC RING crochet 6 SC and tighten the ring:
2nd
R: increase each SC: *2 SC*. MARK THE START OF ROUND – (1st
SC from 2nd
R) i.e. yarn of different color.
3rd
R: increase every 2nd
SC: *SC, 2 SC*. We have 18 SC.
4th
R: increase every 3rd
SC - not above the increasing from previous round, but always by 1 SC further and
so we’ll do it all next rounds. 3 SC, (2 SC) and further *2 SC, (2 SC)*. Now we have 24 SC.
5th
R: 4 SC, (2 SC) and further increase each 4th
SC: *3 SC, (2 SC)*. Now we have 30 SC.
6th
R: 5 SC, (2 SC) and increase each 5th
SC: *4 SC, (2 SC)*. Now we have 36 SC.
7th
– 9th
R: from 7th
R do not increase, crochet 3 rounds. Now we have 36 SC.
Each round finish ABOVE last increasing.
Now we have 1st
cupola. Cut the yarn and left approx. 20 cm for sewing.
CROCHET TWO SAME CUPOLA. By the 2nd
cupola DO NOT CUT the yarn!
Cupolas put together so, that the 1st
one– with cut will be in back and count 8 stitches:
With the free yarn ending, 8 stitches sew together
Crochet further and MARK THE START OF ROUND - 1 SC e.g. yarn of different color.
THE ROUNDS COUNT AGAIN FROM 1.
1st
R: crochet whole round using SC. 1 SC crochet also in the seam position, so that do not appear holes.
Now we should have 61 SC, if You have 2 more or 2 less nothing happens, the heart will have 1 round more
or less, but the appearance will be the same. Marking of 1st
stitch in 1st
R.
2nd
R: crochet 61 stitches.
3rd
R: begin ON EACH SIDE 2 SC TOGETHER – only on the side of the heart side and ONLY in the front loop.
HERE – IN THE SIDE MIDDLE crochet 2 SC together:
Crochet together in the front loop, pay attention to tighten!
2 SC together: Mark the 1st
together SC: (on both sides)
On the other heart side crochet another 2 SC together.
Now we have +- 59 stitches.
4th
R: crochet together always in a line (approx.) under the together stitches from previous round.
Crochet 2 SC together on each side. Now we have 57 stitches.
5th
R: crochet 2 SC together on both sides. Now we have 55 stitches
6th
R: crochet 2 SC together, crochet 1 SC and 2 SC together (4 stitches in this round) – on both sides, so that
the 1st
together crocheted stitches will be before and the 2nd
together crocheted stitches behind the
together crocheted stitches from previous round. Now we have 51 stitches.

R: crochet 2 SC and 2 SC together on both sides. We have 15 stitches.
16th
R: crochet 2 SC and 2 SC together on both sides. We have 11 stitches.
Add some more filling:
17th
R: crochet 2 SC and 2 SC together on both sides. We have 7 stitches.
18th
R: crochet 2 SC together, immediately next 2 SC together and 2 SC and SC together on the opposite
sides, pull over the stitch and cut the yarn – left 10 – 15 cm free end. Sew up all loose yarn ends and we are
DONE ☺
Seam and its detail – You can see, if we crochet only behind the front thread of the SC, the rear thread
forms divider, to prevent stick out of the filler (pic 2)
