Schema and why it’s critical to your SEO success.
Schema Markup
Schema markup is code (semantic vocabulary) that you put on your website to help the search engines return more informative results for users. If you've ever used rich snippets, you'll understand exactly what schema markup is all about.

Notes:• Results in the map aren't ads. They show in the
map because they have a Google My Business Listing.
• So their schema stars are actually coming from Google reviews. Google Review schema stars will show a number/rating next to them.
• Schema markup on your own site will not.
Schema Markup
• Look at the difference between both listings for Ultimate Lawn Maintenance. One is from their Google listing. The other one is from Yelp (which naturally would have schema markup on the site). It's not a matter of which is "right". A business, especially a local business SHOULD have both.
• Google actually will display aggregate reviews from around the web in the review panel too. This may depend on the type of “MyBusiness listing” a business buys from Google.
• This makes it even more beneficial to have both a MyBusinesslisting and schema markup on their own sites, agents and brokers.
Schema Markup
Will adding the markup to agent/broker help to rank higher on Google?
• Debatable… and some opinions state that nothing but good SEO is going to help with that.
• The markup being there will do more to grab attention once they're in the top rankings.
• Not every top 3 search results are always ads.
• Sometimes that's true and sometimes it's not.
• Sometimes the ads are only placed at the bottom of the page.
