CRIBA Renovaon of a block of buildings using the CRIBA (Industrialised, Steel and Timber-Based Construcon and Renovaon) concept buildings Partners The project is supported by ademe as part of the LOW- CARBON ENERGY pro- gramme (of the investments for the future pro- gramme - pia) Duraon: 3 years Launch: January 2013 Total cost of the project: €8.8M Including PIA support: €2.9M Form of PIA support: subsidies and refundable grants Locaon: Saint-Paul-lès-Dax (Aquitaine) Coordinator Context France’s commitment to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions significantly by 2050 involves the massive renovaon of its exisng housing stock. The French government is aiming to renovate 500,000 dwellings per year. The key challenge associated with achieving this target lies in the number of available jobs and the costs generated by complete restoraons. It is essenal to reduce these costs by improving producvity and renovaon processes on the one hand, and by proposing global renovaon soluons on the other, with the integraon of several funcons into a single product. Objecves The mass-producon of renovaon soluons would seem to be a promising approach to such problems. The CRIBA (Construcon et rénovaon industrialisées bois acier—Industrialised, Steel and Timber-Based Construcon and Renovaon) project thus aims to: Develop a mass-produced technical soluon for the renovaon of mul-dwelling buildings, incorporang roofing and façade treatments, insulaon, architectural improvements, energy producon and management Develop a soſtware suite that allows for the configuraon of the technical renovaon soluon according to the exisng situaon and the publicaon of all documents required for the studies, producon and installaon of the panels Lay the foundaons of an industrial prefabricaon chain for the components within a new enty acng as the assembler (or coordinator) of the global renovaon soluon Demonstrate the pernence of the concept in an actual situaon at the scale of a block of buildings. Implementaon The CRIBA project consists of the simultaneous execuon of two works packages: The first concerns the development of the technical soluon for a prefabricated building shell with mber framework, and the deployment of applicaon tools, in parcular a façade configurator based on a digital mock-up. This package will allow for the establishment of the product and service offering that will then be marketed The second package concerns the renovaon of the La Pince housing block at Saint-Paul-lès -Dax. It comprises all of the studies required for the renovaon of the block, with a view to making this an exemplary and above all reproducible operaon. The block consists of a complex of five buildings with a total of 110 mul-unit social dwellings. Buildings to be renovated in the La Pince block (Saint-Paul-lès-Dax) © OPH 40
