Raising awareness around the issues that homeless, orphan, and foster children

face has been a challenge for decades upon decades. It is an everyday occurrence

that a child finds himself or herself an orphan, which increases the chances they

will become part of the foster care system. Sadly enough, even that solution poses

undo risk to children and ends up often times in failure and child homelessness.

Good homes available

to house foster, orphan

and homeless children

have always been too

few. Many youth find

themselves in housing

that is overcrowded,

uncaring or on the

streets fending for

themselves, as young as

age 11.

As more youth age out

of protected foster

care, those without the

life skills to propel themselves forward, are more apt to move into homelessness

and poverty, creating an even greater downward spiral. One can imagine what that

might entail for a child, including drugs and criminal behavior.

The statistics are staggering.

There is hope for these youth and it includes giving them a helping hand, a word of

wisdom, encouragement and advice around the options available that create the

best, most exciting future.

The Lorimor ChildEmpowerment Foundation, DBA Creating Exciting Futures

(“CEF”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was created to fill the gap with a vision

and mission to reach, teach, support and empower these kids, especially now

considering the impact of COVID-19 and social distancing.


The desire to fulfill CEF’s mission is how the 2021 youth event of the year was

created. With your help, we have a better chance of reaching as many youth as we

possibly can.

2-Day Virtual Interactive Personal Development

Youth Summer Camp 2021

The CEF Youth Summer Camp has been created to engage underserved youth of

today in a digital environment that promotes curiosity and ideas for a future they

may never have considered.

The problem is that CEF cannot do it alone. We are seeking sponsors to fund the

event project that will allow 220 youth (maximum and 250 with adult volunteers)

to attend the Virtual Interactive Summer Camp who otherwise would not be able

to afford to attend such a high-tech event, as the cost is $50 per person.


This project is raising funds that when fully funded, will accomplish the following:

• Provide scholarships for as many young people as possible who express an

interest and apply, up to 220 youth, to attend this experiential event. The

life, interpersonal and cognitive skills trainings, games and group exercises

during camp will give each child first-hand knowledge of what is possible for

them in the world today. It will also spark the curiosity about what could be

possible for their futures. They will be prompted to see what is possible in

their future is bigger than they may have ever imagined was available to

them personally.

The CEF Team will be assessing the outcomes at the end of the event,

through attendee feedback of both youth and volunteer adults. Our

intention is to create a connection with these youth about their interest in

future events like this, as well as inquire about their current interests and

greater needs. (Funding Goal $5,000)

• Every attendee will receive a T-Shirt (220 youth and 30 adult volunteers) to

wear during Summer Camp, along with a souvenir, sent via USPS. Attendees

will also be incentivized to participate fully with prizes and

acknowledgements. (Funding Goal $2,500)

• Volunteer assistants will receive a CEF T-Shirt and Hat as a Thank You for their

assistance, sent via USPS. (Funding Goal $1,250)

• Funds raised will cover the cost of the venue, any marketing, services and

gifts that are a part of delivering the Summer Camp event.

(Funding Goal $6,250)

• The Summer Camp will help raise awareness around the issues youth face

directly related to orphan, homeless or youth in foster care. The times have

changed, but the issues have not. Utilizing the CEF programs, events, classes

and trainings, we will provide youth with a glimpse of the experiences that

let them know they have options as they grow and mature. Delivery will be

online, in a closed virtual environment.


• Funds will cover the cost of gathering video footage from the Summer Camp

to help introduce and prompt interest in the Anne Lorimor, Guinness World

Record Holder’s Documentary Film. This is a film that explores the life and

story of Anne Lorimor, follows her through her climb and attaining the

Guinness World Record Holder title as oldest woman to have climbed the

19,341 ft. Mt. Kilimanjaro, in July 2019 at the age of 89! This story will portray

the amazing contributions of the philanthropist, teacher, caregiver, nurse

and inspirational icon, who is creating a living legacy that will help orphan,

homeless and foster children for generations. (Funding Goal $2,500)

• Funds will pay the initial deposit for 8 students to attend the next CEO Space

Youth Entrepreneurship Camp. (Funding Goal $7,500)

• Fund the Budget for Initial Scholarships for special music, arts, and technical

programs for homeless, orphan and foster children. (Funding Goal $3,500)

• Fund the initial 6-months salary for an interim Executive Director of the CEF

organization. (Funding Goal $25,000)


The Summer Camp was an idea that Anne and her team were gifted during a team

brainstorming session. They consider the idea pandemic-proof and the beginning

of what is intended to be an annual event going forward.

It is CEF’s vision of a future that feeds the heart’s desire and passion of Anne

Lorimor. To continue the help she has been providing these youth over the years,

the Summer Camp offers more youth the opportunites to learn, play and grow in

larger numbers and with cutting edge technology.

Typically, orphan, homeless and foster youth face circumstances that make

chances to attend a Summer Camp of this caliber and technological advancement

near impossible. That is the compelling reason that this type of event is being

provided to them.

The Fundraising Campaign

The fundraising goal for Summer Camp Project gives CEF the opportunity to amplify

the message for this underserved and underprivileged group of youth, and the

work CEF does. Our goal to raise the initial $25,000, while raising awareness and

conversation around the issues young people face that are outside of their control,

sheds light on the need for solutions like what the Summer Camp and CEF offers.

The campaign is being used as a major marketing opportunity to advance the

discussion and open the doors to providing more help and inspiration for these

young children and those who are impacted by their situations. Our greatest

challenge to date has been letting others know about the fine work we are doing

and building an audience. We feel, as many other charities do, that it is critical for

large numbers of potential donors to know about the impact we make in our

community.

Without the funds to market our work, we will not grow or serve at the rate we

intend or could, in order to make a difference in the lives of so many children and

youth who need us.

The Interactive Virtual Experience

In 2 full days of activities and learnings, in a 100% virtual experience, CEF has

brought augmented reality and the imaginations of youth together to build and

grow; new relationships, new friendships, new skills, and new learnings.

We anticipate this experience will stay with these youth for a lifetime.

There will be a cast of adult chaperones and virtual space attendants to ensure that

the experience is the highest quality and interaction possible during the scheduling

being set.
