Marsia is an internationally known leader and business coach working with multiple companies, organizations and enterprises. She is the Executive Vice-President of Carnahan, Smith & Gunter, Inc. and has served as adjunct faculty at Marylhurst University (formerly Marylhurst College), Oregon. Prior to joining CSG, Marsia spent 14 years in the healthcare industry. Marsia brings a unique perspective to business coaching as she grew up inside of family-owned businesses.

With over 30 years of business and ownership development, market strategic planning, market research, promotion and advertising, Karen is an internationally known leader and coach with organizations, corporations and businesses. In addition, Karen has served on numerous Boards of Directors; most recently the Chairwoman of Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation and of FamilyCare, Inc., a regional health company.
In her capacity as President and Co-Owner of Carnahan, Smith & Gunter, Inc., she has ignited and inspired hundreds of staff members, executives and owners in the transformation of work, leading change and fulfilling organizational and individual visions. Karen spends most of her client time coaching executives in both the strategic future of the business and also the growth of the executive as a dynamic, inspiring leader. She can often be found researching, reading and engaging in at least four different subjects for development of work place, business and cultures issues.
Karen is an avid student of collaborative leadership and studies with such individuals as Dr. Don Beck of the National Values Center; Jill Taylor, RN, MH and Jeannette French, MS, PMHMP, APRN, CS, AAMFT of the Taylor Group; Adizes Graduate School, Santa Barbara, California; Kimberly Herkert of The Way of the Heart.

• IEDC rolled out the first web seminar on the Ethics in November 2012. Starting in 2013, the webinar will be offered twice a year.
