Provide Job-Creatingtax Cuts
MegS JobS Plan
Cr Js
With Caliornia acing a $20 bil-lion decit, we have to be strate-gic and eective in the tax reliewe provide. We need targeted taxcuts to get the economy movingagain and get Caliornians backto work. Simply put, growingthe economy is the only way outo the mess thats been createdby poor budget managementin Sacramento. With the scalcrisis Caliornia aces today, the
state must rst see revenuesincrease rom economic recoverybeore providing across-the-boardtax cuts. Meg has a realisticplan: spark job growth now byquickly enacting targeted taxcuts that are aordable and im-mediately impact key sectors oour economy to create new jobs.Once our economy begins to growagain and spending has been cut,
Meg will provide broad-based in-come tax relie and take steps tosimpliy Caliornias tax system.

a Final Word
The only way to solve ourtowering unemployment is to getthe economy moving again. Megstax plan would be a signicanteconomic boost to the state. Megis promoting a balanced approach:cut targeted taxes, clean up thespending mess in Sacramento andthen use new revenues once thebudget has been stabilized to pro-
vide marginal tax rate reductionsand make Caliornias tax systemsimpler and airer.
Meg believes that too muchdebt is irresponsible. We must actnow by making the necessary cutsto government spending. We cantcontinue to use gimmicks to patchup the structural problems withthe General Fund while billions
get added on top o the statesdebt.
We cannot continue tohave one of the worst taxenvironments for jobs in
America and expect to remainthe Golden State. My tax cut
plan encourages research anddevelopment, promotes capitalformation and investment innew jobs and provides targetedtax relief to jump-start oureconomy. Long term, were

Megsather, a World War II veteran, taught her that hard, behind-the-scenes work is important or

Meg attended public schoolrom kindergarten through the12th grade. As a strong studentand a versatile athlete, Meghad the opportunity to attendPrinceton University, whereshe received a degree in eco-
