Only those persons with thenecessary experience can beauthorised by the contractor tooperate the load-carryingequipment!
The contractor must ensure thatthe PERI Instructions for Use isavailable and brought to theattention of those personsoperating the load-carryingequipment!
The crane pick-up spreader is tobe used according to valid safetyregulations together withappropriate care and attention!
Do not exceed the maximum load-bearing capacity of the crane pick-up spreader!
Always attach, transport and setdown loads in such a way that thecrane pick-up spreader and theload itself are not damaged!
Move loads with the crane pick-up spreader only when there is noor very little wind! Ensure risk-freetransport of loads at all times!
Do not endanger any persons whoare working in the area alongwhich the load is beingtransported!
The contractor must ensure thatthe crane pick-up spreader is keptin good working order, especiallythe lifting chains!
Persons authorised to use thecrane pick-up spreader mustinform the contractor immediatelyin cases of obvious defects anddeficiencies e.g. cracks, permanentdeformations, breakage, missinglabels!
If there is any suspicion that theload-bearing capacity or functionof the crane pick-up spreader hasbeen adversely affected due tocorrosion or any other particularoccurrence, then it must be takenout of service!
The contractor must ensure thatall maintenance work carried outon the crane pick-up spreader isonly carried out by qualifiedpersonnel!
Before a crane pick-up spreaderwhich has been repaired or takenout of service can be used again,it must be inspected and approvedby qualified personnel! All defectsand deficiencies must beimmediately rectified!
The crane pick-up spreader is tobe stored and transported so thatthe load-bearing capacity andfunction are not negatively affectedthrough environmental influencesor any other effects!
The contractor must ensure thatthe crane pick-up spreaderundergoes regular checks andinspections!

Ensure that chains do not comeinto contact with sharp edgeswhen being used to transportloads!
Steel chains must not be twistedand must remain free of anyknots!
Twisted chains must bestraightened before the next use!
If a chain is wound around a loadseveral times for lifting, ensurethat no crossover of the chainoccurs!
After moving, make sure that theload is in a safe and secureposition before detaching thechains!

These operating instructions containdetails for the handling andapproved use of the crane pick-upspreader 2.5t.
All valid safety and environmentalregulations are to be observedwherever the crane pick-up spreaderis used.
Only materials in good workingorder are to be used. A damagedcrane pick-up spreader must betaken out of service and replaced.
Only PERI original componentsare to be used as spare parts.
The crane pick-up spreader can beused in temperatures ranging from-20° up to +60° C.
The crane pick-up spreader isclassified as load-carryingequipment according to VBG 9a.See B2 for testing instructions.
The 2-sling lifting chains, 6.0 m(can be shortened) and 2-slinglifting chains with compensatorL = 3.50 are lifting gear equipmentaccording to VBG 9a.The contractor is responsible forensuring regular inspections arecarried out according to VBG 9a.

α
Load-bearing capacity 2500 kg
Max. lifting gearinclination angle α ≤ 30°
– during force redirection on sharpedges (radii > 8 mm), the load-bearing capacity is reduced to1600 kg.
– if the load to be carried is notdirectly attached to the lifting gearbut instead the chains are onlywrapped around, then appropriatemeasures must be taken to preventthe chains from slipping.

6.1 Moving formwork elementsusing 4 lifting points
Observe bearingcapacity of load-carryingequipment!
Requirements for carrying loads:– lifting points on formwork element
are symmetrically positioned to thecentre of gravity axis S.
– lever a and the lifting gearinclination angle α have to besymmetrical.Count number of drilled holesbetween the spreader bolts 3.
– position spreader shoe 2 andspreader shoe with hook 4symmetrically to the centre ofgravity axis S.
Fig. 3
– lifting chains 5 are the samelength, not twisted or tangled.
– during lifting, the Compensatormust hang in a horizontalposition.
- with extended formworkelements, the load capacity ofconnecting parts must beverified before lifting.

6.2 Moving inclined climbingformwork units
Requirements for carrying loads:Work preparation– determine position of centre of
gravity S, see Table 6.4.– determine position of spreader
shoe 2 and of load introductionpoints 4.
– determine length of chains.
On the construction site1. Position spreader shoe 2 and load
introduction points 4.2. Hang in lifting eye 6.1 in the
spreader hook 4.1.3. Shorten chains, see 6.3.4. Attach crane pick-up spreader to
spreader shoes 2.
The crane pick-upspreader hangshorizontally.
Moving1. Pivot crane pick-up spreader over
the climbing formwork unit.2. Loop lifting strap 7 around bracket
and attach to lifting hooks. (Load-bearing capacity of lifting
strap: min. 1/2 platform weight)3. Attach shortened chains 6.3 to
V-strongback 8. If necessary,adjust chains.
4. Move climbing formwork unit. Fig. 4
The inclination of the bracket 9 is1° to 2° towards the direction of theformwork.

Description:Crane Pick-Up Spreader 2.5tItem no: 105588
2. Intended PurposeRegular inspections of the load-carryingequipment will ensure that its operating safetyand reliability is guaranteed and any possibleaccident risks are eliminated – subject to properhandling. Inspections must be carried out atregular intervals (in Germany, at least every12 months!), According to the conditions ofuse, shorter intervals may be necessary.
3. ResponsibilityThe contractor (or his safety representative)is responsible for arranging regular safetyinspections of the load-carrying equipment.Safety inspections on the load-carryingequipment must only be carried out byqualified and authorised personnel.
B2 TestingInstructions
13Instructions for Use: Crane Pick-Up Spreader 2.5t
4. Procedures
4.1 Arranging Safety InspectionsThe contractor arranges the inspection to takeplace at the manufacturer of the load-carryingequipment. Alternatively, the inspection canbe done by an authorised service provider orby the contractor himself provided that aqualified inspector is available at the sametime.
4.2 Implementation of the InspectionThe scope of testing includes a visual andfunctionality inspection. Implementation ofan inspection exceeding normal requirementsis subject to the discretion of the inspectorand can extend to following inspections:
Visual inspection:- all available parts- worn and deformed parts- cracks- corrosion damage- spreader hook- bolts
Measures:If any defects are found during the safetyinspection, these must be rectified accordingto instructions given by the inspector.Afterwards, another inspection takes place.Important: within the framework ofmaintenance work done on the load-carryingequipment, any welding work must be carriedout by companies which possess theappropriate welding qualification certificateaccording to national and internationalregulations or standards. In Germany: “Großer Eignungsnachweis”according to DIN 18800, Part 7, Paragraph 6.2.This is required according to DIN 15429.
