It all kicked off on Thursday with our Father’s Day afternoon which was a great success. It was wonderful to see so many Dads enjoying the afternoon in class with the students! We finished off the week with the Father’s Day Stall on Friday and I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of the parents that so generously gave up their time on the day to help sell or wrap gifts. We couldn’t run this activity without your support, so from everyone at CEPS…thank you!!! I’d also like to thank Roz Coles from our Parents Association, not only for her work on the day but also in the lead up, coordinating all of our parent helpers. A reminder for any parents, that if you would like to help with the Mother’s & Father’s Day Stalls next year, or any other school events, please ensure you have a current Working With Children Check and you have provided us with a copy so we can have you approved by School Council. The school has just received our 2018 NAPLAN Results. Individual Student Reports will be sent home with students in Yr 3 and 5 this week and we will publish a summary of our school results to the school community in our next newsletter. A big congratulations to our Yr 3 and 5 students on their efforts this year. This week, the school also conducted a School Readiness Test in preparation to conduct NAPLAN Online in 2019. The purpose of this test was to confirm our school’s technical and network capabilities and determine the most effective way for us to deliver NAPLAN Online. I’m pleased to report that the Readiness Test was very successful and has provided us with some valuable feedback to ensure a smooth transition to the online platform next year. I’d like to thank our Yr 3 and 5 students and teachers for their support in conducting the Readiness Test and providing us with this important insight. Our first group of Year 6 students have been thoroughly enjoying themselves this week at Camp Woorabinda and have been lucky enough to have had fantastic weather conditions! Our second group heads off next week and I’m sure are very excited. We’re looking forward to hearing all about some of their great experiences upon their return. Kind regards, Michelle Wrigley Acting Principal

From the Wellbeing Officer Student Dress Code at CEPS The school council has implemented the compulsory wearing of school uniform in accordance with a Ministerial Order under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006. School uniform is worn to promote the development of school identity, provide easy identification and to maximise equality in clothing standards. The points from the Student Dress Code states- School uniform is available from Primary School
Wear PTY LTD (PSW).
Only school uniform supplied by the official
supplier is to be worn at school.
The Student Dress Code applies during school
hours, while traveling to and from school and
when children are on school excursions.
The wearing of an approved sun smart hat on the
way to and from school, in the school grounds
during recess and lunchtimes and for all outdoor
activities is compulsory terms 1 and 4.
Contingency procedures are available to assist
families experiencing difficulty meeting policy
requirements due to financial concerns.
Some forms of jewellery pose negative health,
safety and school image issues and these types of
jewellery are not to be worn.
Parents are responsible for ensuring correct
uniform are worn.
Parents can discuss with the class teacher times when their child is unable to be in uniform this may include when the uniform is being washed, dirty or in the process of being replaced. A note can be sent to school and two days grace will be granted. Hoodies are not acceptable items to replace school tops. A navy blue windcheater or jumper is the preferred replacement top. From the Office Parent Mobile Phone Use in the School’s Reception area Parents are asked to refrain from conducting mobile phone conversations in the school’s foyer. You may be asked to leave the reception area to continue your conversation outside. This is to protect your privacy, and reduce noise levels in a small space.
Advertising for Businesses Businesses are invited to advertise in our special glossy business promotion page. The final submission date is 14th September. Contact the school office and ask for Faye Hanks if you have any queries.
2019 Booklist Payments There’s only 8 school weeks left for paying 2019 Essential Student Item fees. The final payment date is Thursday 15th November. Payments can be made during business hours, over the phone, in person or sent along with your child. If you are experiencing financial hardship, contact should be made with the office prior to 15/11/18 to discuss payment options.
Munch Monitors Unfortunately the last two Friday’s parents have experienced issues when ordering student lunches via Munch Monitors. This is out of the school’s control, however we are liaising with Munch Monitors and the Canteen to rectify the issues. The school will notify parents by text if any online lunch ordering issues arise in the future. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
