Covid 19 Testing
InformationIn an effort to best support our guests currently in and travelling to any of our 6 locations we have compiled this small guide to help you find information for acquiring necessary testing when it’s time to return home. This guide is accurate from the time of distribution, Samson Waters cannot be held responsible for any discrepancy in costs or testing results and timings.
What is needed by travellers Returning to the US & Canada
WHO: All travelers age 2 and older returning to the following destinations are required to show proof of a negative test prior to their departure from Mexico:
● Canada, effective as of January 7, 2021● United States, effective as of January 26, 2021
TEST REQUIRED: Both Canadian and US guests are required to provide medical certification from clinic/hospital for testing done no more that 72 hours prior to flight departure
● All Canadian guests are required to provide a negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) Available at select locations results in 2-3 days
● All American Guests are required to provide negative viral test - this test can be either the Antigen or PCR test.
COST: Costs will vary per location from $60 USD per person to as high as $350 depending on testing and clinic
RESULTS: Depending on testing needed results can be given within 40 mins to 72 hours. Results can be delivered in paper or electronic form per the CDC.
FLIGHT DENIAL : Guests departing Mexico will not be permitted to check in to their flight without the negative test results provided. Airlines vary on their re-accommodation process. Airlines must confirm negative test results for each passenger on board to be cleared for departure.
POSITIVE TEST RESULTS: Guest who test positive for Covid - 19 will be required to quarantine for 14 days and acquire a negative test result before being allowed to depart to the US or Canada.
VACCINATED? : Even guests who have already received the COVID 19 Vaccination will be required to provide a negative test as required by the destination country
