Transportation Shared electric vehicle company Revel announced it will provide a free membership for its electric mopeds to all health care workers in the cities it serves so they can continue to do their critical work during the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic.

To receive free rides, employees of any health care provider should visit Revel’s website and upload a photo of their employee ID cards. Revel will verify these ID cards the same way the company verifies driver licenses during the initial signup process. UMC Staff who do not feel comfortable uploading a picture of their employee ID may also sign up by emailing Toya Carmichael, UMCs VP of Public Relations / Corporate Secretary @ [email protected].

In response to the spread of coronavirus, Revel has also augmented its disinfection process for mopeds and helmets and increased the frequency at which the mopeds are cleaned. Revel technicians use COVID-19-effective disinfectants to thoroughly clean high-touch areas including the handlebars, brake levers, helmet case, and seat. In addition, technicians are continuing to clean helmets with COVID-19-effective disinfectants as has always been the protocol, giving special attention to the inside and outside of the helmets, the visor, and the chin strap. Revel employees have all been trained on ways to remain safe, including frequent hand-washing and wearing gloves while working. Revel’s facilities are also being disinfected every shift to maintain a safe environment. Revel encourages riders to follow CDC recommendations for preventing illness, such as frequent hand-washing before and after using Revel.

About: Revel is a shared electric vehicle company that helps people who live and work in cities get where they need to go in a safe, reliable, and convenient way. Qualified riders use the Revel app to unlock and ride a licensed, regulated, and insured electric moped parked within the service area. Revel provides two helmets with each vehicle and offers free riding lessons seven days a week. To get started, visit GoRevel.com, and check out @_GoRevel on Twitter.
