Dear Community Partner, COVID-19 is continuously evolving and the impact is still being felt by our community. The Salt Lake Education Foundation is diligently working with our partners, donors and community to meet the needs of our students and their families. The foundation has worked with community partners to provide the following: • 21,186 emergency food bags were distributed to 86,013 individuals. • 12,882 hygiene kits were given out to families. • 243 deliveries have been made benefiting approximately 972 individuals. • 3,000 food bags were allotted to Backman, Edison, Escalante, Meadowlark and Liberty Elementary schools through a partnership with For The Kids. • 217 emergency Walmart gift cards, ten Smith’s gift cards, eight DI vouchers and ten monthly UTA passes have been dispensed. • 3,000 LED light bulbs from Utah Clean Energy were given out to families. • 500 bags of school supplies were donated by Girls on the Run. • 161 Food Bags were donated by USANA - Kids Eat for the hotline pantry. • 771 rolls of toilet paper were donated by Young Living. Truck Donation • The hotline number is 801.301.6476. Someone will be available to answer calls, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm. • When families call the hotline, they will speak to an intake specialist who will refer them to the appropriate person. • We can support families with questions about topics including student coursework, tech support, emergency food resources, and help to meet families’ basic needs. • Help is available in English and Spanish.
