Wildflower Checklist Wildflowers at Evergreen Brick Works Since we opened in 2010, volunteers have planted more than 100 native wildflower species and 14,000 individual plants in an effort to naturalize this former industrial site. Throughout 2011, long-time volunteer Dave Barr worked to catalog a preliminary list of the flowering plants at EBW. The list will grow and evolve as these natural landscapes continue to change over time, providing an excellent resource for telling the story of naturalization. The data collected through submitted sheets will be used to update this list regularly, and allow us to keep track of which species are able flourish. It will also reflect the great variety of wildflowers native to the region, and open the door for new learning about the diversity of life around us. How to use this checklist With the help of an expert eye or wildflower field guide, move from garden to garden and do your best to identify each flower as you go. Once you’ve clearly identified one, check it off the list. If you spot a species that’s not on our list, keep track of where you saw it, take a photo and email it to [email protected], or submit this form to the Welcome Desk located in the Young Welcome Centre. Most importantly, take the time to stop and smell the flowers! ebw.evergreen.ca 550 Bayview Avenue | Bus. Bike. Walk.
