Last year, CROSS Ministries provided approximately 21,000 acts of giving and service to low income and no-income people.
LIFE TOGETHER

Covenant Book Club
The Book Club Meets on Thursday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room. The book for March is At the Water’s Edge: A Novel by Sara Gruen From Amazon: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER: In this thrilling new novel from the author of Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen again demonstrates her talent for creating spellbinding period pieces. At the Water’s Edge is a gripping and poignant love story about a privileged young woman’s awakening as she experiences the devastation of World War II in a tiny village in the Scottish Highlands.”
The book for April is At the Edge of the Orchard by Tracy Chevalier. From goodreads.com: 1838: James and Sadie Goodenough have settled where their wagon got stuck – in the muddy, stagnant swamps of northwest Ohio. They and their five children work relentlessly to tame their patch of land, buying saplings from a local tree man known as John Appleseed so they can cultivate the fifty apple trees required to stake their claim on the property. But the orchard they plant sows the seeds of a long battle. James loves the apples, reminders of an easier life back in Connecticut; while Sadie prefers the applejack they make, an alcoholic refuge from brutal frontier life. 1853: Their youngest child Robert is wandering through Gold Rush California. Restless and haunted by the broken family he left behind, he has made his way alone across the country. In the redwood and giant sequoia groves he finds some solace, collecting seeds for a naturalist who sells plants from the new world to the gardeners of England. But you can run only so far, even in America, and when Robert’s past makes an unexpected appearance he must decide whether to strike out again or stake his own claim to a home at last. Chevalier tells a fierce, beautifully crafted story in At the Edge of the Orchard, her most graceful and richly imagined work yet.
Ladies Who Lunch – Monday, March 27 @ 11:30 a.m. Sign-up for the lunch in the north hallway and keep a look out for the restaurant announcement. Last month, LWL met at Star Bar on Ingersoll and were joined by a few women who work in the area, with approximately 15 attending. Hope to see you there!

We need all the large boxes we can get (the size that would be large enough for a child to crawl
through). This year’s VBS has a cave theme and we want to make our very own cave tunnel to play in.
The bigger the tunnel, the more fun it will be! Please help us find boxes! We are willing to pick up if
needed, otherwise drop them by the church office or set them in the hallway by the Christian Education
Easter Candy Donations Covenant’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 8th. We are in need of small, wrapped candies or small trinkets to stuff in the plastic eggs. All donations can be placed in the basket in the fellowship hall prior to Sunday, April 2nd. Last year almost forty kids came to Covenant to hunt eggs. Thank you in advance for your support!

“Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don’t have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, ‘God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!’ – if you don’t give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead.” James 2: 15-17
