Concept Statement- The inspiration for this project derived from the magnolia flower as well as Shanghai shikumen homes, drawing from the idea of nobility, honor, and respect as it relates to restaurant design and function.

The restaurant design blends traditional Chinese design with the modern elegance that a 4-star hotel restaurant deserves. Rich, warm colors, strong contrast, and luxurious materials help to make this design successful and reminiscent of the magnolia it was inspired by.

Project Description- To design a vacation home in Palm Springs, California for a couple, The Barr’s, that will be “aging-in-place” for a couple of the Baby Boomer generation, done in the style of Mid-Century Modern

The focus is stylized shapes and colors with a glamorous twist. A modern take on the dandelion, sun, and flower are a focus in this home, with a sharp Mid Century Modern color palette of fuchsia, chartreuse and turquoise, with a monochromatic base of black, gray, and white. The space will cater to the client’s wants and needs and be a space that they can grow in, all while reflecting Mid Century Modern design.

Project Description- Galleria Saarinen, designed for Eero Saarinen, will be an exhibition of his greatest works, both in architecture and furniture.

Project Location- Kirkkonummi, Finland

Concept Statement- The inspiration for this space came from the idea of flight, excitement, and grandeur that drove most of Eero Sarrinen’s designs.

Galleria Saarinen will focus on Saarinen’s innovation through his use of new materials including glass, metal, fiberglass as well as concrete, and his emphasis on color. Its overall design will echo Saarinen’s love of curves and the idea of movement and flight. It will include models, interactive displays, videos, projection screens, as well as furniture displays. The circulation will mimic Saarinen’s common theme of symmetrical travel paths, but with a twist.

Similiar to the FF&E, the lighting is inspired by flight and fancy as well as movement. Most will refelct a cooler color palette and while they will create drama, they will help to showcase the displays.

This office design reflects the client’s eclectic and environmentally friendly style. The look for Henricksen’s new office space is casual elegance meets 1950’s- Mid-Century Modern. Upon walking through the doors, one will feel as though she is walking into a 1950’s lounge with an upscale twist.

A striking black and white color palette is spiked with splashes of bright hues of fuchsia, lime green, and turquoise. By utilizing elegant materials like glass, marble, and crystal along with modern metals, forms, and colors, all in a chic and casual way, the two ideas will flow seamlessly together into one eclectic, yet cohesive space.

The design of this dentist’s office is very feminine in nature and draws on the idea of a spa. It is inspired by water and glass, both reflective materials. The use of luxurious materials and finishes transform this Chicago lakeside building into a beautiful retreat and dentist office. The layout was also inspired by the shape of the human mouth

This was a group project and was done in collaboration with Ryan Sullivan and Pachara Santisuk.

The lighting for this dentist office is different than most in the fact that it is emphasized and helpd with the elegant feel, while also staying functional. The result is very luxurious fixtures and up-to-date technology that will help a patient forget they are at the dentist.

The idea for this space was to create a washroom that was ADA compliant, yet still had the Old World Charm that the client asked for. The space utilizes the space properly and makes for a safe, yet stylish wasaharoom for an aging couple.

The lighting for this washroom has a Tuscan feel to it, with topaz-colored glass and a warm glow. Oil-rubbed bronze adds depth and really gives the room a finished look while still providing necessary light for safety and function.

The floor plan of this kitchen was designed specifically to utilize the view of the city and make a convenient layout for caterers to enter and prepare meals for the Fletcher’s frequent social gatherings.

The overall look is put together, elegant, and the ultimate place to entertain that the Flecther’s asked for.

The idea was to use fixtures that are delicate in shape, made with high-end materials such as crystal, glass, and metal.
