Water Outlook Football: In the 3A division, Gooding is 4 for 4 with victories over Valley (53-6), Wendell (14-13), Woodriver (55- 6), and last Fri- day’s victory over Buhl (28-18). This Thursday they go up against the Bulldogs in Kim- berly at 7 p.m. Wendell is at 3 for 4 with wins over Melba, Filer, and Valley. In 1A D1 football Hager- man is 5 for 5. Volleyball: Camas County is at the top of the Northside Conference, and their three set win of Dietrich last Thursday, their overall standing is 10-4. Dietrich is at 7-4 while Richfield is at 7-3. In 1A D1 Volley- ball, the Hagerman Pirates girls are the team to beat at 11-1, while the Shoshone Indians win against Gooding on Monday brings them up to 4-10. The Camas County School District has been busy makingsuretheirstudentshaveaccesstothebookstheyneed.Anewlyremodeledmainlibrary,andanewchildren’slibraryhavegreat-lyexpandedwhattheyhavetooffer. Thenewschoollibrarian,ShirleyCobble,waspreviouslythelibrarianatWendellHighSchool.Shecommentedonanotherlibraryupdate.“Ourschoollibrarycardcatalogcannowbeac-cessedthroughtheCamasSchoolDistrictwebsite.” In addition to the library updates, two reading clubs werestartedthisschoolyear.“Wehave16highschoolstudentsintheclubatthistime.Wehavemajoreventsplannedforeachmonthandwemeetbi-weeklyonMondaysatlunchtimeinthelibrary,”saidMrs.Cobble. 22studentsareintheJuniorHighreadingclubandtheymeettwiceamonthat lunch time in the library.The JuniorHighclubhasmanyactivitiesplannedfortheschoolyearaswell.

DennisLeonKnowles DennisLeonKnowles,a 65 year old formerCarey, Idaho resident,passed away suddenlyon Sunday, September29,2013withhis familyby his side in Spokane,Washington. He was born onFebruary 25, 1948 inWendell, Idaho, thefirst born child of LeoThomasandGloria(Holt)Knowles,andattendedschoolsinShoshone,Idaho.HelivedinShoshoneuntilmovingtoCarey in the 1970’s, where he continued to work for theIdahoDepartmentofTransportation.Heretired10yearsagofromIDTandcontinuedlivinginCareyuntilhemovedtoMosesLake,Washingtonthispastyearto livewithhisdaughterandherfamily. Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyedsalmon and steelhead fishing along the Salmon River andtrout fishing inthestreams,creeksandreservoirsthrough-outtheregion.Helovedhuntingdeerandelkalloverthearea’ssagebrushuplandsandforestedmountainsandchasedtheelusivechukars across the foothillsofSouthern Idaho.Hispickupandcamptrailercouldbeseenparkedatafish-ingholeorahuntingspotduringallfourseasonsoftheyear.Dennislovedtheoutdoorsimmenselyandsoughtthepeaceandserenityhefoundthere. Jones, 85, a longtimeresidentofnorthShoshone,passedawaypeacefully intoeter-nitywithJesusonSeptember24,2013, atSt.Luke’sMagicValleyMedical Center in Twin Falls ofagerelatedillness. Waldo was born on April 18,1928 in Shelley, Idaho to parentsNellie (Cody) and Charlie Jones.Hewasthe8thof9children,6liv-ingtoadulthood.Hemovedwithhisfamilyin1937tobecomehomesteadersonlandinnorthShoshone. HeattendedschoolinShoshone,playingfootballandwasaboxingchampion,graduatingin1946. HeproudlyservedhiscountryintheArmyinpostwarGer-many.Hecherishedthosememoriestotheend. In1954,hemarriedJeanKelley.Theyhad6children;Char-lene(Ted),Colleen(Bruce,deceased),Carley(Jerry),Christy(Mac),Charles(Linda),andCraig.Thoughtheydivorced,thefamiliesremainedclose. HelatermetTinkerRiesandtheyremainedinacommittedrelationship until her death in 2010. He became step-dad toMona,Ray,LoriandTurk. Waldoandhisbrother,Elmer,formedabusinesspartnershipthatendureduntilElmer’sdeathin2007.Theywerefarmers,dairymen,andraisedbeefcattleandhorses. He served his community through various organizations,holdingmanypositions.HewasamemberoftheWoodRiverGrangeandservedmanyyearsontheShoshoneSchoolBoard.HealsoactivelyparticipatedintheIdahoDemocraticParty.HewasontheBoardofDirectorsoftheBigWoodCanalCompanyandtheThorneCreekCattleman’sAssociation.Hewashon-oredtobeinductedintotheIdahoWaterUsers’HallofFamein2004. Helovedtofish,nevergoingasoftenasheshouldhave.Hispassionwaspeopleandfamily.Hementoredmanyyoungpeopleandenjoyedfolksofallages,especiallychildren.Ourpatriarchwasproudofhischildrenandhislargeextendedfamily.Visiting
