EXCLUSIVE: Jenny Tolman Entwines Intriguing Characters,
Relatable Storylines
On ‘There Goes The Neighborhood’
“Country music was built on storytelling and characters,” says
Jenny Tolman, a Nashville native whose own intriguing tales and
agile wordplay pervade her debut album, There Goes The
Neighborhood. “I want to honor that and continue on that tradition.
Yes, everything evolves but I think it’s important to hold on to
tradition at the same time to the things that define country
music.” Click here to read the full interview.

MusicRow CountryBreakout Chart Reporting Stations
Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell take No. 1 this week with their
duet “What Happens In A Small Town.” The song has a ring of truth
to it as Gilbert went through a breakup and eventually a
reconciliation with his now wife, Amber.
“Songs that come from your life just have another kind of
power,” Gilbert said. “People can hear the difference, and they
know. For this song, obviously I’m not the only guy–or girl–who’s
been there, but I’m lucky and blessed enough to have been able to
put it back together.”
“What Happens In A Small Town” was written by Gilbert, Brock
Berryhill, Josh Dunne and Rhett Akins, was produced by Dann Huff
and features Ell on guitar.
Catch Gilbert on his 2019 Not Like Us Tour with Michael Ray and
Lindsay Ell.
