was the Philippines’ deadliest storm ever

Actual Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares drafts of annual and other periodic reports;

• Implement various regulatory standards and other bench mark to guide objective assessment of cooperative and recommend areas of enhancement when necessary;

• Monitor the inspections of cooperatives conducted by CDS IIs in the field;

• Monitor the operational performance of cooperatives to ensure safe and sound operation;

• Require all cooperatives to submit the mandated reportorial requirements annually;

Conduct assessment of reports submitted by cooperatives, rank and cluster cooperatives based on the result of evaluation;

Review and evaluate audited financial statements submitted;

When necessary, conduct examination/investigation of cooperatives upon the recommendation of the field CDS or upon request of other government agency;

Recommend provision of appropriate intervention/assistance to cooperative when necessary as a result of inspection/examination;

Recommend imposition of sanctions and/or remedial intercessions for violations committed by cooperatives;

• Evaluate submitted requirement for Certificate of Good Standing, Certificate of Authority to set-up branch and other certification, and recommend issuance;

• Recommend renewal of accreditation of external auditor;

• Recommend issuance of commendation /recognition of cooperatives showing exemplary performance at the regional level; and

• Conduct validation/verification of cooperative applying for registration.

Expectation towards the Programme

• To learn from the cooperative experiences and practices of other countries;

• To understand Malaysian Cooperative legislation;

• To study Malaysian cooperative management and support programs to their cooperatives;

• To be equipped with knowledge regarding management of cooperatives; and

• To gather best cooperative practices that can be duplicated in our country.
