CLASS AWARDS PRESENTED DURING BOOK WEEK

2018 BOOK WEEK CELEBRATIONS The Carrathool Shire Library hosted noted children’s book writer Lisa Shanahan for Book Week. Students from both Hillston Central and St Josephs came along and listened to her read some of her stories and share her writing skills. Lisa then travelled to Goolgowi Public School.

Lisa’s books include the popular titles “Bear and Chook”; “My Mum Tarzan”; “Big Pet Day Out”.

This year two of Lisa’s books were nominated in the CBCA competition “The Grand Genius Summer of Henry Hoobler” and “Hark It’s me Ruby Lee”, which was awarded Honours in the Early Childhood section. How lucky we were to have someone so well known and talented visit during Book Week!

Students from all schools in the Carrathool Shire were invited to use their imaginations and artistic talents to make some wonderful displays to depict the 2018 Book Week theme “Find My Treasure”. Our library looked great thanks to all your wonderful efforts.
